When it comes to New Year's, there are more than enough weird traditions performed by people all around the world. From throwing bread to burning scarecrows, these are some of the weirdest New Years celebrations.

1. Eating 12 Grapes (Spain)

Ready, set, how many grapes can you stuff in your mouth at once? Go! If you can manage to fit 12 grapes in your mouth at midnight, our friends in Spain believe you've achieved good luck for the next year.

2. Colored Underwear (South America)

In certain South American countries, wearing colored underwear will determine your fate for the new year. Red underwear means you'll find love. Gold means wealth, and white signifies peace. What color underwear would you be sporting?

3. Broken Plates (Denmark)

In Denmark, it is a must to save all of your unused dishes and plates until the 31st of December, when you are supposed to shatter them against the doors of all your friends and family. For good luck, of course!

4. Scarecrow Burning (Ecuador)

In Ecuador, they celebrate the New Year by burning paper-filled scarecrows at midnight. It is also acceptable to burn photographs from the previous year. All out of love though! :-)

5. Round Things (Philippines)

In the Philippines, it's all about round things. Round food, round clothes, round coins... as long as it's round, you are in the clear! Everything round represents coins to bring you wealth.

6. Dropping Ice Cream (Switzerland)

In Switzerland, they celebrate the New Year by dropping ice cream on the floor. Sounds like a sad time to me, but the sacrifice must be made for the good luck!

7. Water Buckets (Puerto Rico)

In some parts of Puerto Rico, they throw pails of water out of their windows to drive away evil spirits. Ya better watch out and not get too close to the windows around this time of year!!

8. Cemetery Sleepover (Chile)

In Chile, families spend the night in the company of their deceased loved ones by sleeping at the cemetery. I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty glad I don't live in Chile.

9. Coin Tossing (Romania)

In Romania, they throw their spare coins into the river to get good luck!

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
