9 Things To Do On NYE If You're Spending It Solo, Because That's 100 Percent OK

With New Year's Eve approaching, it's almost time to start the countdown for New Year's!

New Year's Eve usually means breaking out a bottle of champagne or partying with your friends and family members.

However, if you don't have any plans for New Year's Eve, or are spending the night alone, then you might be wondering what you can do to still make the night special.

Just because you have no set plans for NYE, that doesn't mean you can't still celebrate it! Here are nine ways to spend the night solo that will make it an epic one.

If you're spending New Year's Eve alone, then you should pull out some movies to watch!

There are so many good ones out there that have a New Year's Eve theme, such as "New Year's Eve" or "About Time."

You should consider watching them in bed right before watching the ball drop to help yourself relax and feel more at ease.

2. Go To The Bowling Alley

My favorite thing to do when I'm by myself on New Year's Eve is to go to the bowling alley!

Bowling alleys are lit up during New Year's Eve, and they have music along with televisions showing the ball drop. They're a lot of fun if you enjoy bowling!

3. Find A Fun Event To Go To

There are tons of things to do during New Year's Eve!

There are many events at bars, nightclubs, or other venues in town. If you feel like it, you should head out by yourself and find an event to attend.

In Cincinnati, there are lots of places you can go to celebrate. According to 365 Cincinnati, you can go to Taft's Totally '80s party at the Taft House. There are a lot of other events that are going on that you can easily go to by yourself!

4. Plan A Small Party With Family

Just because you don't have any plans for New Year's Eve doesn't mean that you can't create your own plans with your family. If you're with your family, you can plan a small party together!

You can break out the decorations and create themed dishes.

5. Watch The Ball Drop

You can write a list of possible resolutions and think of what goals you would like to accomplish or achieve next year.

Spending time thinking of the best possible resolutions for you in the new year and ways you can work on achieving them is always a great idea.

7. Go Out To Eat

You can also find somewhere to go out for dinner. There are several restaurants that are open for New Year's Eve that you can visit. Going out to dinner is a perfect way to spend New Year's Eve if you have no other plans!

8. Break Out A Bottle Of Champagne

You don't need to have a party in order to break out a bottle of champagne. If you're spending your New Year's Eve with no plans, that just means you get the whole bottle to yourself! It's also relaxing to have a glass while you're watching the ball drop or watching a New Year's Eve movie! So sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the countdown to 2020.

9. Just Relax!

Finally, another way to enjoy New Year's Eve by yourself is to find ways to relax, whether it's putting your feet up and watching the ball drop or taking a relaxing bath with a bath bomb. You can also treat it as a spa night by doing a facemask or giving yourself a pedicure.

If you find yourself looking for something to do during New Year's Eve, you should stop searching and try any of the suggestions above! You don't need to have tons of friends or huge plans for the night in order to celebrate. There are so many things that you can easily do yourself, and you'll have a lot of fun enjoying the holiday before the new year begins!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating.
