It's 2018, and yes, I plan on improving myself. To those who say, "new year, new me," are you really sticking to that? New Year's Resolutions are very hard to keep up with, and you stick with it for a couple weeks or so, and then it's just dropped and forgotten.
It's just a new year. I am still the same as I was a week ago, when it was 2017. I am constantly growing, learning, and improving myself. It is not going to be a "new me," it is going to be an "improving me." How can people say, "new year, new me" when they are not able to stick to their resolutions for more than a couple weeks?
Sure, a new year would be fun to try out new things. It would be ideal to create a "2018 bucket list" and try to fulfill it. Or even have a list of all of your resolutions and such, which would help a lot.
Don't get me wrong, some people are really good about sticking to their resolutions. But, personally, to break a habit or develop a new habit, you must do it for 21 days (three weeks) straight. That is hard for most people, which is why New Year's Resolutions do not always stick.
If you do want to try to maintain your resolutions, I recommend making a list and putting it on your mirror, setting a constant reminder on your phone, journaling about your resolutions/goals and how it is helping you, etc. Anything that can help you to try to remember to do it.
I do have plans and goals for 2018, but to be fair, I am content with myself and with where I am in life right now. For me, 2018 will be another year where I will get to improve myself and be a better version of me. I am still the same as I was from the last moments of 2017, but I am just a work in progress.
