I have quite a few Disney quotes in my room and have already planned on hanging them all over my future house. I’m a true believer in inspirational quotes, and I think that Disney has some of the best ones. Sitting on my nightstand, I have a framed picture of Peter Pan flying across the sky and underneath it says, “Grow wise, grow strong, but never grow up.” I have taken this to heart. I know of course that you cannot stay a kid forever, and that is where the grow wise and grow strong part come in. The older we all get, the more we will learn about life and the wiser we can become. It is also true that the more we go through the stronger we will end up being.
We will all become adults one day, or we all are adults already, that of course is an inevitable fact of life. We are going to get older and we are going to have to take on a lot more responsibility whether we want to or not. But that doesn’t mean we have to grow up. We are all still kids at heart, and we can take that with us as we get older. When I say I never want to grow up, I’m not saying I don’t want to get old or that I do not want to take on the responsibilities of an adult. I am saying that I want to do all of that but still keep all the joy and happiness I had as a kid.
My favorite thing about kids is their innocence they have for the world. The way that they can dream up crazy things that some of may think is impossible but they believe it with all their heart. Kids see the good in the world much better than adults. Of course, this is probably because they have not seen much of the world yet to know that not everything is what they think it is. But I think that is a great part about being a kid. You think you and everyone else has everything pretty much figured out so you go with the flow and dream big crazy things.
We should all dream big crazy things — it doesn’t matter how practical kids dreams are as long as they believe in something and strive and work hard to achieve their goals. They just might surprise you with what they end up doing. So lets all surprise ourselves then. Dream like you’re a kid and have fun like you’re a kid. We are all going to get older, but getting stronger and wiser sounds way better than growing up. I think no matter what age you are you can still never grow up in Neverland.
