Was my dress really the prettiest you’ve ever seen?

Did you register my name?

When I gave you my number did you even click save?

Did you think twice to ask?

Was stealing my kisses a pre-written task?


Tell me tell me love

Did my budweiser come with a contract?

Was every sip a loan you’d come to steal back?


Tell me tell me love

Did you hear me say no?

Was once, twice, thrice not enough?


Tell me tell me love

Do you like how it looks?

The mauve coloring that came with the bruise?


Tell me tell me love

Will you tell them I tried

To detach from your grasp?


Before you stashed me in your car

And decided I wasn’t worthy of another sunrise?
