Last fall we were all informed that the cast of ABC's "Full House" was going to have a reunion. However, this was not just any reunion. We were going to see Danny, Uncle Jesse, Joey, D.J, Stephanie, and the rest of the gang on a new Netflix original series "Fuller House" and the 90s kid inside of all of us had never been more excited. Below is the trailer just in case you have been on the internet for a whole month and missed it.
Well, last Friday was the day. Thirteen episodes of season one of "Fuller House" were released for your viewing pleasure.
The catch is many reviews have actually been quite negative. The plot, first of all, seems to mirror exactly the plot of the original "Full House". D.J. is raising her three children with the help of Stephanie and Kimmie after the death of her husband. Sound familiar? The actor that is playing her youngest son is actually a set of twins and the laugh track is undoubtedly still there. To some viewers, this is exactly the nostalgia they were hoping for, but to many it just seems too repetitive.
Another problem with the show is that it is trying to keep its sappy and light-hearted, life lesson teaching tone while at the same time incorporating the dry humor that is often found in today's TV sitcoms. The combination of the two has lead to a slightly awkward tone to the show.
In all honestly, most people will watch it anyways just because they are curious. I know that I did. Oh well, Netflix, at least, you tired. Maybe if the Olsen twins had decided to come back it would've been better. I guess we'll never know.
