We all have those days when we wish Netflix would just let you type in an emotion to find the best movie for the moment (if this feature actually exists, please let me know). Whether you are feeling joyful or angry, there’s a perfect movie or show to encourage you to let it all out. Here is a list of Netflix titles categorized to fit the emotions featured in "Inside Out."
Joy
"Portlandia"
Whenever I watch this show I know that I’m guaranteed to laugh throughout every episode no matter how many times I’ve seen it. It’s the perfect show to enjoy with the windows open and an afternoon snack.
"Lilo and Stitch"
Nothing brings me more joy than a fantastic Disney movie especially if it’s on my list of favorites. "Lilo and Stitch"
Sadness
"One Day"
One night I decided to sit down and watch a nice movie on Netflix. I put on "One Day" because I saw it had Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess. Little did I know this movie would bring me to tears at the beginning, at the end, and even after it was over. Let’s just say this movie will help channel your inner “Sadness.”
"What’s Eating Gilbert Grape"
This movie was recommended to me by friends specifically because it features a young Leonardo DiCaprio. I didn’t realize how sad this movie would be either, but Leo is fantastic in it. It’s one of his best performances in my eyes.
Disgust
"American Horror Story"
I am not particularly an avid watcher of "AHS," but I have seen a few episodes of most seasons. I have to say that each of these episodes disgusted me in some way without fail whether through death scenes or just really creepy characters.
"Super Size Me"
This film never fails to gross me out ever since I watched it in high school health class. There’s just something about a guy eating fast food every day that makes me sick to my stomach.
Fear
"How to Get Away with Murder"
Ever since this show debuted last fall, I’ve been obsessed. Every episode keeps me on my toes because you never know who the next killer or victim will be.
"Pretty Little Liars"
I know it’s not one of the scariest shows I could have picked, but the fact that girls
Anger
"Breaking Bad"
This one needs a bit of an explanation. Don’t get me wrong, this show is one of my favorites, but the characters on this show never failed to irritate me. Whether it was Skyler, Marie or Walter White himself, I was always left irritated by what they say and how they react to situations.
"Law and Order SVU"
This one needs no explanation.
