Every 90's kids' dream is finally here! The trailer for "Fuller House" was released on Thursday, Dec. 17. As a huge "Full House" fan, I can say I may have actually teared up while watching the trailer.
I have every single season on DVD, and you better believe I have watched the show at least three times all the way through. That doesn't count the multiple days after school watching whatever reruns were on TV. All in all, I have probably spent hundreds of hours watching my favorite 90's television show. There are some episodes that I can recite word-for-word. I think it's safe to say that I am emotionally invested in "Full House," and this trailer just brought back all the feels and overwhelmed me with nostalgia.
The one minute and 15 second trailer features shots of the iconic San Fransisco sites like the Golden Gate Bridge, the trolley, the grassy area where the Tanners had a picnic in the opening credits, and the exterior of the Tanner family house. To add to the emotional appeal, "The House That Built Me" by Miranda Lambert plays in the background.
The trailer then moves into the inside of the always-bustling home, yet now it is eerily quiet and serene. While the interior appears to be somewhat updated, viewers can still tell that it is the Tanner family home. Drawings from children still hang from the side of the counter and refrigerator as they always did in the show.
After a quick pan of the kitchen, we find out that Netflix will release the show on February 26; almost two months away! And then the trailer switches to a zoom into the living room. The Tanner's couch still sits in the same spot that it has for the last 28 years. A golden retriever puppy runs into the living room and quickly turns its head as familiar voices can be heard outside the door. Just before the door opens to reveal the grown-up characters, it fades out and displays the recognizable "Full House" logo, except this time it reads "Fuller House," signifying that more fun from the Tanners is about to come.
I have to admit, when I first heard about the "Full House" series being revamped, I was a little skeptical. No one could ever replace or re-do one of my favorite television shows. There have been so many movies nowadays that did not need to have a sequel, and I thought that "Full House" fell within these lines.
However, after seeing the trailer, I can say that no matter what I have scheduled for February 26, I am going to cancel it and spend my day watching the 13 episodes that will be released on Netflix. Why? Because, like many other "Full House" fans, this family, this house, and this show "built me."
