If you haven't heard already, Halloween this year is gonna be a bit blustery with the forecast already saying that there will be scattered thunderstorms spread out throughout the day. Although this might be a little disappointing, there are still so many ways to get into the Halloween spirit without going out, including curling up in the dorm and watching some classic Halloween Movies. Netflix has a spectacular line up of Halloween movies, so I thought I would show some of the great halloween movies it has to offer. Also, just a reminder that Fountain will be serving chocolate and candy from 4:30 - 9:00 tomorrow incase you've got a sweet tooth!
1. American Psycho
Before the Dark Knight Trilogy, Christian Bale was known for his amazing performance in this dark thriller from 2000. Patrick Bateman's behavior in this movie is unsettling enough to be a perfect Halloween movie if you are looking for some suspense and eeriness.
2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
This movie, inspired by the crimes of serial killer and body snatcher Ed Gein, is a horror classic, and is widely considered a pioneer film for the genre of slasher horror movies. Leatherface is easily one of the most terrifying villains in horror movie history, making this a great Halloween movie to watch.
3. Scream
A classic teen slasher flick, Scream features an iconic cast as well as some memorable thriller scenes. This is a quintessential horror movie, especially for newbies to the genre who don't want anything too extreme.
4. Coraline
If you don't know about this movie, honestly where have you been. I really hate watching this movie because of the overall creepiness and second hand anxiety I personally get, but hey if that's your cup of tea give it a shot!
5. Men In Black
Okay a bit of a stretch, but Men In Black is a nice laid back alien movie, a great halloween fit if you don't want anything super scary. And besides, who doesn't love Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in a buddy cop situation?
