10 of the most Underrated Netflix Chick Flicks

Because we all love a little thing called love.

I don't know what it is about summertime that causes people to be more in tune with their romantic side, but it's scientifically and psychologically proven - summertime love is indeed a major movement. Along with summertime love comes a TON of romance movies, and Netflix has the perfect list of choices. Here are ten of the most under-rated chick flicks on Netflix:

1. Penelope.

This is a really sweet romance about a girl named Penelope, who was born with a peculiar facial deformity thanks to a vengeful witch. The only way her curse can be lifted is by one of her own kind, meaning someone of noble birth. Penelope's parents begin a long parade of suitors for their daughter, in hopes that her curse will soon be broken. The movie follows her journey to find true love, as well as a cure to her curse.

2. SO Undercover.

While I've outgrown my Miley Cyrus phase where I wanted to be her (and ultimately, Hannah Montana), this flick was surprisingly funny and really cute at some points too! Cyrus' character goes undercover in a college sorority to keep the daughter of a wanted man safe so that she'd be able to appear in court when the day came. While there, she's also tasked with finding the person there who's not who they say they are, in order to protect her charge and the other sorority girls as well.

3. Ella Enchanted.

This movie was one of my favorites when I was younger. Made during Anne Hathaway's entrance into big-time Hollywood, she plays a girl named Ella who's been cursed (or blessed, as her godmother would say) with the gift of obeying what she's told. But that's the catch, she has to obey everything she's told to do. Majority of the time, the movie follows Ella's journey to find her godmother in order to undo the spell.

4. A Christmas Prince.

Okay, so your girl is feeling hecka Christmas vibes right now for some reason. I guess my mother's incessant #ChristmasInJuly mood has finally taken over and I am loving my Christmas movies at the moment. Netflix has a hoard of really awesome ones, including several of their own. "A Christmas Prince" is a Netflix original and definitely one to beat as far as great Christmas movies go. What more could a girl want than Christmastime, romance, and royalty?!

5. #RealityHigh.

I just watched this movie recently after it popped up on my Netflix feed and I have to say I liked it. There were things that could've been considered cliche, but in the end, it was pretty good. The romance was super cute and classic, however, there were quite a few scenes dealing with underage drinking and more cursing than I cared for. While I know drinking and cursing are pretty much staples of a high schooler's life nowadays, it's not exactly something I like or agree with. The movie definitely hits on how big social media is in the lives of high schooler's now too; it's actually kind of scary how accurate it was about that part.

6. Rip Tide.

If you loved movies such as "Blue Crush" and "Soul Surfer," you'll LOVE this pick! It's about a model's escape from the busily frustrating life of New York City. She takes a break from the madness by staying with her aunt...in AUSTRALIA of all places! Talk about travel goals! It's also got an adorable romance brewing as well.

7. Guess Who.

It's an oldie, but a goody! And who doesn't love an Ashton Kutcher film?!

8. Leap Year.

9. High Strung.

This combines two of my loves, school and dancing, into one big jumble of a romance movie. "High Strung" is about the romance and separate struggles of a violinist and a ballet dancer. And the guy even has an accent...umm...YES PLEASE.

10. How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days.

#2000sgoals

*Honorable Mention: The Kissing Booth.*

Okay, so this movie isn't exactly an under-rated chick flick because it's currently KILLING in views, according to Netflix. I had to mention it though because it's currently my FAV movie on Netflix. So much so that I can't even really count how many times I've watched it! And the main couple is together in real life (#goals).

And there's ten (well, eleven) under-rated chick flicks on Netflix!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
