Have you ever felt like you need to get away? Like, you need to go some where different or new, to get yourself back in a good state of mind? Wanting to get away from a familiar scene is okay. Sometimes, we get in these 'funks' that make us feel like we are losing who we really are. Being somewhere for a long time can put us in a state of mind where we even get bored or 'stir crazy' from not going anywhere else. Also, depending on what's going on in your life you can become down or stressed which makes you tired of being where you are at.

Depending on your situation, you may be able to get away or start a new life by going away from home for college, or going on a vacation. Sometimes, we need more than a few days away, other times we need a good few months or so. You should never feel ashamed or judged for wanting to go somewhere new and escape. If people become mad at you or try to intervene so you don't go, they aren't being completely supportive of you and your decisions. It is your decision if you need to get away from everything that is going on in your life. I'm not saying to forget all your problems or run from them; just that sometimes you need a breather and a new environment to get your thoughts together and to move forward.

Nobody is going to fully understand what is going on in your head or understand exactly what you are going through. In my opinion, getting away for awhile really helps clear my mind and helps me focus and realize different things I never noticed before leaving. It might not be everyone's best option to get away, but for a lot of people they don't realize how helpful it really can be until they do it.

Deciding to go away is your decision, don't ever let someone make you feel bad for doing something that you need to get yourself back on track. If you're feeling stuck and in an emotionally unstable place right now, think about trying to get away for a few days. If you feel like that wasn't enough, try longer. Do what you need to do to get yourself better. Do it for you, because you are most important.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
