If I have learned anything in college, it's that having a friend is extremely important, and also that making friends is not as easy now as it was in pre-K. Now if you just randomly walk up to someone and try to have a conversation, you're automatically a stalker and need to be mentally evaluated immediately. Maybe that isn't really the way it happens, but it feels that way. My solution to this problem is to get a puppy. My parents, on the other hand, think this is an unnecessary answer. But what do parents know anyway? (Really though, listen to your parents; they actually do know what they are talking about, sometimes.)
Five Reasons Why You Should Let Me Have a Puppy:
- It needs me.
- Puppies are fun.
- I need a friend.
- 1 Puppy = Higher GPA
- If you let me get one, you wont have to hear about it anymore.
Every puppy needs a human, and let’s face it: I’m a pretty awesome human, so really we’re depriving a very lucky dog of its happiness.
I know you have lots of fun. I mean, you have me, but there is plenty of room for more adventures. I promise to let you play with him, give him baths, buy his food, and dog sit anytime you want; I’m good at sharing.
It really is important that I stay mentally stable in college. If I don’t I'll end up living with you for the rest of my life, and we both know, that is not what you want.
Studies show that those who have a puppy in college, typically do better than those who do not. (This study was conducted by yours truly, therefore you know it is 100 percent accurate.) If you really want me to maintain my GPA, a puppy will do just that. Plus, you know I will be home more because I will have a dog to take care of.
I know the puppy conversation has gotten old, but the bright side is that you will not have to hear me asking for one anymore, and that should be the sprinkles on top of the big, fat congratulations banana split. (you should buy me one of those too.) You also won't have to go walk with me, or swim with me, or listen to me complain about me always being freezing, because I would have my little sidekick to go places with and cuddle at night. It really is a win-win situation.
I do have to say that this is completely different from when I wanted a fish; I won't forget to feed/water the dog, and the good news is that if I do, he will remind me of it. Also you can't hold it against me forever. Fish are not very easy to keep alive, and I really did try very hard to do so.
In case you were wondering, I would prefer a silver/blue weenie dog. But really any color dachshund is fine. Just promise not to love the dog more than you love me.
