In ten years, where do you see yourself? Personally, I see myself going out into the world with an open mind and adventurous demeanor. The only way to turn this fantasy into a reality is to travel. When you travel, you are able to drift into a new, different, and possibly scary comfort zone. Travelling allows the opportunity for one to escape from reality. That’s what’s so refreshing about travelling--the traveler is able to broaden their horizons; they are exposed to new culture, new social norms, and new points of view. If it were actually possible, I wish I could leave no city unexplored. However, thinking reasonably, it is pretty obvious that traveling to every city is just a little bit irrational. To satisfy my desire to see the world from different geographic perspectives, I have composed a list of the top cities I am enthusiastic to explore.

  1. Tena, Ecuador

Tena is a rural and small jungle town in a providence of the Amazon Rain Forest. There are so many activities to do in Tena; this includes hikes in the Amazon, kayaking down the many rivers the rain forest contains, learning some history of the town, and enjoying the seclusive bliss that the town encompasses. This city is incredibly culturally rich and has very strong traditional roots (both literally and figuratively).

2. Dubai

In recent years, Dubai has become one of the most successful and thriving travel destinations. It has developed into a hotspot for young tourists as well as people who just want to have a good time in a tropical and beautiful place. The list goes on and on, but to give a glimpse into some popular pastimes, examples include snorkeling, food festivals, concerts, and visiting the many landmarks Dubai has (both historically and new modern landmarks).

3. New Orleans, Louisiana

The hub of jazz music, good eats, and art, New Orleans offers a world of new experiences. There is a wide spectrum of activities for tourists in New Orleans that range from concerts to museum hopping to sporting events. If you get bored in New Orleans, you’re doing something wrong.

4. Amsterdam, Netherlands

The culturally rich and unique atmosphere Amsterdam upholds gives tourists an exhilarating shift in perspective. Through diversions including travelling to nature parks, hiking, food tastings, and visiting zoos or aquariums Amsterdam offers a variety of opportunities to venture out of your comfort zone.

5. Casablanca, Morocco

A unique travel destination, Casablanca has many beautiful and charismatic characteristics. Admiring the historic architecture is fan favorite. The diverse and brilliant architectural designs of buildings in Casablanca are riveting with vibrant colors and individualistic structures. In addition, the cuisine of Casablanca is full of spice and powerful kicks.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
