It is incredible how often we over look the simplest things in life and take those for granted. One of these majestic underdogs is the potato. The beautiful thing about potatoes is they come in all shapes and sizes and in different forms. Here is my quick ranking of the various extravagant sides of the potato.
10. Sweet Potato Pie
The only reason that sweet potato pie is number ten is because I have only had it once in my lifetime. So I will look for this dish to jump in my rankings in the future.
9. Potato Soup
The only time I really like potato soup is when it comes before a meal and usually that meal will include another better form of potato. Its really like the potato side chick, its just sorta there.
8. Baked Potato
I have never really been a fan of the baked potato, it just seems like a whole lot of work and little reward. It is like creating a master piece and then destroying it immediately, by watching all the fixings fall of.
7.Potato Casserole
I lost my love for potato casserole when they became out played out and over done at almost every family event. It has come to the point that I just skip over this potato dish
6.Curly Fries
Curly fries have caught my eye once or twice but at the end if the day if I have to decide between curly or regular I'm taking regular. I also find that curly fries are very inconsistant.
5. Potato Chips
These are always a good decision when you mix them with lunch meat sandwiches or just for a snack. I prefer to chose healthier alternatives of potato.
4. Tater Tots
These round and fried friends of the potato have been a love of mine since elementary school in the Tilton school cafeteria. I may he sacrificed one or two by throwing them at the back of one of my friends head, but that does not diminish my love.
3.Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes are a fan favorite for most people because of there versatility, you can have garlic mashed, cheddar mashed, or even mashed filled with bacon and corn, the possibilities are endless.
2. French Fries
I can't deny the fact that I eat french fries probably daily if not twice daily, but they just seem like the perfect filler food for any meal. the French fry would be no where near number two on my list though if they were not dipped in mayonaise.
1. Potato Salad
Potato Salad has always been my first and forever potato love ever since my grandma introduced me to her special recipe. Everyone knows that nothing can ever replace the love that grandmas pour into their recipes.
