There are so many disgusting issues going on in our world today. We have global warming, which is affecting us every day. We have unemployed people everywhere and along with that we have outrageously high amounts in poverty. We also have North Korea testing nukes that they are wanting to drop on the U.S. We even have sex trafficking happening right before our eyes and nothing is really being done. These are all issues that need attention, but in recent events we can see that legislatures and almost everyone else is talking about nothing more than…BATHROOMS! Most of this talk is being directed towards laws that people are wanting to be made that say transgender individuals have to use the restroom that corresponds with the gender they were born as not the gender they identify as.
This is absolutely heartbreaking and disgusting for me to even hear! It is 2016 people! Discrimination isn’t “in” anymore and it needs to stop and if it doesn’t I fear what will happen for future generations. The people who support this are ridiculous. The reports we see on the news, social media, and even television ads, paint this picture of perverted men who are trying to take children. This is crazy! First of all, please tell me all the reports that have come in saying that a transgender individual took a child from a bathroom! Second, children can be taken from anywhere! They could be standing outside their home in broad daylight and get taken by anyone! There are just no facts to back up the “perverted transgender man” taking your children from a restroom claim.
I would also like to discuss that some states have already begun passing bills to support these claims. North Carolina, Florida, and Alabama are just a few who are participating in this ridiculous issue. These places are passing these laws and if a transgender individual is caught breaking this law, they can go to jail for 6 months. Some people who support these laws are outraged that some business have created gender neutral bathrooms. For example, people have started petitions and pledges to boycott Target because they announced that transgender customers and employees were allowed to use whatever bathroom they felt more comfortable in.
People just don’t think before they speak anymore. Can we just sit back and realize that these individuals have been using whatever bathroom they want for years now, but it is just coming to light now because one politician brought it up! Something is wrong with this world. Please tell me how you are even going to catch these individuals breaking these laws. Are you going to have bouncers and police standing by the doors checking as people walk in? Honestly if you think about it, the one who is looking to see what genitalia the person has is doing the inappropriate looking! The sad thing is, that once that person is caught breaking this law and they are taken to jail or they are asked to go to their appropriate bathroom, they are the ones likely to be abused and beaten because they are a woman in men’s bathroom, or they are a man in the women’s bathroom!
I’m sorry but this needed to be said. Nothing hurts me more than seeing people being discriminated against and punished for who they truly are. My thought is, if you don’t want to go in the same bathroom as these individuals, then you need to either go at home or wait until you get home. People just need to get over themselves and realize that we have way more problems than this in the world! I hope people are able to stop this in the future, if not I fear having kids if they have to grow up in a world like this.
