As I sit here in front of my computer writing this article, my mind is counting the minutes until I jump back on my PS4 and play the game known as Tom Clancy's "The Division." I have already spent hours with friends playing this tactical shooter made by Ubisoft. We work as a team going through missions, collecting countless amount of loot and meeting new and interesting players along the way. As of today, my character is level 30 and my skills are pretty decent. I could be a little better, but practice does make perfect.
Before I continue on, I think it is best I explain a little more about the game. Tom Clancy's "The Division" is a massively multiplayer online role-playing shooter that takes place in New York during a small pox outbreak that started during the Black Friday sales. The player is a special agent of a top secret government organization known as The Division. You are part of the second wave that has to go into the city of Manhattan for two main tasks: One, stop the outbreak and bring order back to city and, two, find out what happened to the first wave of agents.
My obsession with this game is with how deep the gear system. Ever item counts for how you want to survive in the game. So you start asking yourself, should I make myself a run and gunner, or maybe someone who receive damage and can still keep on ticking. It all depends on how you utilize your gear. One of the biggest thing you can do in the help you in the game is modifying your gear. By doing that, you will gain the upper hand against your enemies. Oh, oh, did I mention they have a crafting system. Yes, the game allows you to craft your own weapons, gear, and even mods using parts.
This is a screenshot of my character that was taken via my Playstation 4 screen share. He looks so cool and it show the hard work, time and love that was put into this game. Loot collecting is so addictive. You can spend hours upon hours searching for just the right weapon, gear, or even mods. Now, please don't get me wrong, I still do have a social life and I do spend time with my loved ones. When I do have the free time, it is usually on this game. Replaying old missions after beating the game on a higher difficulty and defeating the harder boss is so satisfying. You will receive better items and more currency.
As of 4/12, Ubisoft released a new patch for the game called incursions. It adds more to the game, better items, more daily and weekly challenges, and even a new mission that will test your survivor skills and your teamwork. There is much more in the patch that I could go on and on about but I will just leave you the link, so you can read up on it and see for your self.
