My Hopes For Pokémon Sun and Moon

And how to make it one of the best Pokémon games we've seen in a while.

Pokémon Sun and Moon are only six months away! As fans from all around the world gear up for the next installment in the beloved franchise, I sit here, dreaming of some possibilities for the game that I don't think are unreasonable at all. Though the series is definitely not perfect, each game tries to do its best with perfecting the flaws that the series has (some of them gaping...). Still, even though I am just a small American fan, maybe other fellow fans of the series have the same ideas as me to take the series even further. Here they are!

New dual-type Fairy Pokémon!

How awesome would it be to have a Dark-Fairy type, a Ghost-Fairy type, or an Ice-Fairy type? Or the reverse typing could work too! Fairy types are new, cool, and powerful, but don't necessarily have to be cute and fluffy like they were in Gen 6. Why not give us some edgy, mysterious Fairy types that use black magic? There are so many possibilities! And though the new region seems to be tropical, which means new Water types (i.e. Hoenn), that doesn't mean that other types can get the shaft. We want new Fairy types!

MEGA EVOLUTIONS!!!!!!!

Pokémon fans everywhere are clamoring for new Megas for all of their favorite pocket monsters. There is so much possibility for various creatures of all types to get a Mega, and get awesome new designs. There could be Mega Evolutions for the other starters, ones for legendary Pokémon, or some fan favorites, like Dragonite, or my beloved Roserade. Though there will new Megas pretty much guaranteed for this next installment, it's mainly the amount that I'm wishing for. Maybe someday, every Pokémon will have a Mega Evolution!

An explanation for some of the mysteries of Kalos.

What player of X & Y could forget the ghost girl of Lumiose City, or the missing editor-in-chief? How about the Power Plant doors you can never open, or the mysterious message on the billboard of the train station? Or the strange souvenir? There are so many unanswered things in Kalos that have been completely left behind and overshadowed by Game Freak focusing on other projects. I'm super excited for Sun and Moon, but I also wish we could get a Pokémon Z! Maybe then we could finally put to rest all these mysteries of the Kalos region.

A MASSIVE aftergame.

Though plenty of Pokémon games have had good, lengthy aftergames, it would be awesome to see one of huge caliber in Sun and Moon. Gen 6 definitely added onto the main story of its games with the gameplay after the credits rolled, but it would be awesome to explore all new areas with a decently long quest once you beat the Champion in the new titles. There are also other staples of Pokémon aftergames that are sure to be included, such as being able to catch Legendary Pokémon and see previously uncatchable Pokemon from older games. Let's hope!

Ability to change your appearance throughout the game.

X & Y was set in a region inspired by France, so Game Freak gave players the ability to customize their characters based on the styles and cultures of French fashion. Though the new region seems to be based on Hawaii, I hope the boutique system that was implemented in X & Y comes back. It's awesome that we can select different skin tones for our player characters, but being able to change our outfits would be even better. It makes up for a completely new experience, and no two players look the same.

As time goes on and more things about Sun and Moon are revealed, I have no doubt that this list will be updated, or changed. But for now, I have great hope and faith that Game Freak will give us the best experience we can get with the upcoming Gen 7 games. Pokémon is one of the most beloved gaming franchises, and with it's all ages appeal and timelessness, each game just gets better and better. Here's to the future of Pokémon!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
