'Tis the season of giving and hopefully finding that perfect, thoughtful present. Whether you simply need gift ideas or you're at a loss on Christmas Eve, here are some of my favorite gift ideas for those on the 'nice list':

1. For your parents

Shuttefly Photo Book

Put your family first and give your parents something extra special this holiday season. In my experience, there's nothing a mom loves more than something sentimental or homemade. She might be feeling a little nostalgic now that you're back home for the holidays, so try making her a Shutterfly photo book full of old memories to show how much you love her. For your dad, go for a gift which relates to an activity you like to do together, like a pair of hiking boots or movie tickets. It gives you the perfect excuse to use the gift together and get in some quality time.

2. For the beauty lover

"Christmas Cheer" Giftbox from Lush

You either know one, or you are one. If you are one, then you know just how much a beauty lover enjoys a DIY spa night. Put together a homemade spa kit, complete with a facemask, nail polish, bath bombs, or a body lotion. You get extra points for festive products! Don't want to build your own kit? Try giving one of these premade gift boxes from Lush.

3. For the homebody

Aerie Flannel Pajama Pant

If your friend's favorite motto is "Why go big when I can go home," give her a pair of PJs fit for curling up with a Christmas movie. How about a festive pair with a holiday theme? Check out Aerie's holiday pajamas or pajama sets from Old Navy. If you don't know your friend's size or style, a good pair of fuzzy socks is always a safe bet.

4. For the go-getter

Day Designer Planner

For that friend who's always on the move, pick out a planner so she can keep track of their busy schedule. Day Designer planners allow for detailed to-do lists, while the cover of an Erin Condren LifePlanner can be customized for a personal touch. If you don't think a planner is for her, I'm sure your busy friend would appreciate a Starbucks gift card for a pick-me-up between classes and club meetings.

5. For the guys

Man Crates Booze-Infused Jerkygram

Let's face it: shopping for guys is tough. But just like you would for any other friend, get the guys in your life a gift that suits their personality. I've noticed that if there's one clothing item guys love, it's crazy, colorful shoes. If he likes to laugh, get him a Cards Against Humanity game, or if he's the creative type, splurge on a digital drawing pad. Still not sure what to get, or you want to get him a little bit of everything? Man Crates will ship him a themed gift box, tailored to his personal interests.

6. For the free spirit

The Free People Gift Shop

For a friend who has her eyes on the stars and bare feet on the ground, give a gift with a little bit of sparkle and cheer. A Healing Crystal Box or a Message In A Bottle Necklace from Free People is sure to deliver some holiday magic. If she's not into crystals, check out Moon Juice's selection of beauty dust or buy her a dream journal gift set.

7. For the foodie

Homesteading M&M Mason Jar Cookie Recipe

Who doesn't want to wake up to some special sweet treats on Christmas morning? Buy your friend a Dyllan's Candy Bar box at Target, or stuff a mini stocking full of gift cards to her favorite restaurants. If you're ready to splurge, treat her to a surprise from Goldbelly, a company which ships specialty foods across the country. For a personal touch, give the cooks in your life a homemade mason jar cookie kit.

8. For the long-distance friend

Lokai Balck & White Bracelet

This is the perfect time of year to reach out to a far-away friend and let them know you're thinking of them. Homesick Candles, which are meant to smell like specific states or cities, are perfect for a friend who's from your hometown or a friend who's feeling homesick for the holidays. If you two are so close, yet so far apart, invest in a pair of Lokai bracelets. When you wear yours, you'll think of your other half.

9. For when you're simply stumpedĀ

Spool no. 72 Desert Snow Cozy Scarf

Maybe you were just invited to a Christmas party and need a hostess gift. Maybe you don't know the first thing about the person you drew for secret Santa. Whatever the case, I've got you. For the ladies, choose a classic monogram necklace or a simple, cozy scarf. For the guys, find a fun beanie (or two). These accessories are bound to suit almost everyone's style and won't find their way into the "regift" pile.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
