My first kiss went a little like this…
If you’re anything like me, you were probably super confused when the “First Kiss: Wake Forest Edition” came out on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Being in the Wake Forest Bubble really can make me feel like I’m living under a rock in the Middle Ages sometimes. After I read this article in the New York Times, I found that it’s actually based on this video.
I heard about the video on Thursday when I was getting lunch with two of my friends. The one, Raquel Broehm mentioned that she was going to the shoot later that day.
My first thought was “OMG you’re going to kiss a complete stranger when you're sober?” There are some really attractive people at this school, but when I’m walking across the quad I couldn’t imagine making out with them on the spot.
I don't even know what I'd say. "What's cookin good lookin" would probably come out of my mouth. Weird.
That leads me to my second thought which was “OMG you signed up for this?” She did. Everyone did. They knew what they were getting into, which is good because that would’ve been made the video even weirder.
When the video finally came out, I couldn’t wait to see what it was like, and it didn’t disappoint.
Watching the cute, awkward, and almost uncomfortable to watch make out session between random strangers made me remember how incredible first kisses really are.
In college, we take the random-dance-floor-make-outs for granted. Before freshman year of college, I thought that kisses meant a lot. When I saw my fellow freshmen girlfriends up against the wall with some random dudes in a gross, dark frat basement, I was shocked.
As Jamie Foxx would say, Blame it on the alcohol, but after a while, the random make outs became so common that a kiss became just a kiss.
