My Favorite Fashion Trends for This Upcoming Fall Season

As the leaves change colors and the temperature cools down, it means that the start of fall is slowly but surely approaching us. Fall is my favorite time of the year -- not just because of the fact that I love horror movies and pumpkin spice everything, but also for the fashion aspect of it. Fashion is a vast world of possibilities and we are all allowed to express ourselves through the way we dress. Fashion has quite recently become a passion of mine, and although it may not look like it when I go to class in a big tee and gym shorts, I sure do love the process of picking out an outfit and rocking it with confidence.

Fall is the best time of the year for fashion. Oranges, maroons and browns become prominent colors in every wardrobe and we can now wear leggings and ankle booties on a day-to-day basis. I have been trying to build my wardrobe for the past couple months and in doing so, I have been purchasing clothes that will add to my fall collection. Here are a few of my personal favorite trends and others I've been noticing on the runway for this upcoming season.

1. Choker Necklaces

I've been seeing these everywhere lately and they're definitely a trend I hope never goes out of style. Almost anyone can pull these off with the right outfit.

2. Long-Sleeve Off-the-Shoulder Tops

I've been obsessed with boho-style shirts recently, and these definitely add a girly vibe to any outfit. Plus, they're very easy to pair with cute choker necklaces.

3. Corduroy Skirts

These are back and better than ever. I love the texture of these and they are definitely a key item to have in your wardrobe for the upcoming fall season. Also, they can easily be paired with a pair of black tights and brought into the colder winter months.

4. Open-Toed Booties

This is a hot item that a lot of people have been rocking recently and they are perfect to wear while it's still warm outside, but you still want to dress fall-inspired. It's basically a sandal and bootie in one and is great for the in-between months of summer and fall.

5. Burnt-Orange Skirts, Dresses and Shirts

This color has been seen all over the runways for this upcoming season and the best part is that it looks great on all types of skin tones.

6. Suede Dresses

Suede has been a crucial texture in the runways recently. It adds a subtle, but cute detail to any clothing piece, and is an especially cute detail on any basic dress.

7. Neck-Tie Bandanas

I am in love with this trend, but I don't know if I will ever be able to pull it off. This little accessory can spice up any outfit.

8. Oversized Flannels

These are always a staple in my fall wardrobe every year even if they aren't in style. I always have flannels at easy access to just throw on over leggings. These are cozy and fashionable at the same time, but still are a perfect item for the fall months.

9. Bomber Jackets

These can spice up any basic outfit, and they usually come in all sorts of styles, colors, patterns, etc to fit anyone's style. This is super easy to throw on before running out the door.

10. Denim, Denim, Denim

Denim is another one of my staples -- whether it's ripped denim jeans or a denim jacket, the more denim, the better.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
