I am a huge addict for Podcasts, and I'm not afraid to admit it.

I've realized that constant new sensory input keeps my brain calm and busy. If you know me, I basically always have my headphones in or speakers on listening to something. When I say, always, I mean it - when brushing my teeth, taking a shower, changing out of pajama, putting on makeup, or even when sitting on the toilet (oops, is this too much information?). I used to feel guilty for always needing new inputs, but now I've made peace with my sensory preferences.Anyways, this is a different topic for a different day.

Today, I want to introduce you to some of my favorite Christian podcasts that have helped to keep me sane and entertained.

The Bible Project

An awesome and solid choice for new Christians like myself. The podcast features two hosts having easy-to-digest yet very in-depth conversations about the Bible, history, and theology. They also have accompanying videos on YouTube, Bible reading guides and all sorts of resources online that go with different topics they talked about on the podcast!

The Liturgist Podcast

What's up with this naming a podcast as "Podcast"? It's like naming a cat "Cat" or a novel "Novel". But I still really like this podcast. It's currently hosted by Michael Gungor, Science Mike, William Matthews, and Hillary McBride, exploring up-to-date social issues from Christian perspectives. Don't think they're your stereotypical Christians. They are honest and incisive. I'm not super familiar with the other hosts, but Science Mike really breaks stuff down scientifically (where do you think he gets the name from?) and shows you God's grace. This podcast dissects everyday life events to show you God at work.

Ask Science Mike

Science Mike, one of the hosts from the Liturgist Podcast, answering questions from listeners! Things that you're too afraid or ashamed to ask your pastor about because you don't want to be seen as dumb or not faithful! Things like past lives, transgender, proof of God, and so much more! If you're a curious Christian, this is for you!

Pastor with No Answers

Pastor Joey and his brother Jared having bold, heartfelt, and transparent discussions about life. Sometimes, they also offer their take on current social events. They are not afraid to be silly ghouls, tell their personal struggles and challenges, or admit that they don't know everything! If you want to know you're not alone in your doubts and sadness, or if you just want to listen to a pastor trying to figure this world out much like you and me, this is the podcast for you!

The RobCast

The host, Rob Bell, has a lot of interesting and intriguing takes on the Bible and theology. I'd say he's a very progressive Christian. Some may not completely agree with what he says, so I guess you'll just have to make your own decision. I really enjoy listening to him answering all sorts of thought-provoking questions. My favorite episodes are the ones he did with Pete Rollins (especially since Pete Rollins has an amazing Scottish accent that I cannot get over with)!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
