My Experience With the Paranormal

My Spooky Experience

Halloween is coming up once again and I recently visited Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky. The Sanatorium was once a hospital to treat patients from tuberculosis. This was back in the early 1900's, when tuberculosis affected just almost everyone. It spread from person to person and many of them ended up in Waverly Hills.

Many patients have succumbed to the deadliness of the disease. They say thousands have died in that facility. Now the building is closed for business, but is open to visitors who want to tour the building to learn the history or in fact, to see the paranormal activity hot spots in the building. Sunday, my mother, my friend Evan, and I visited Waverly to participate in a mini tour of the hot spots of paranormal. We had just been given the rules for the tour and the three of huddled together to be safe.

The hallways and rooms were dark with nothing in them. As we stopped with the tour guides, the people started to hear footsteps near our group. My mom and Evan had just seen a shadow figure moving around, while I couldn't see the figure after looking for several minutes. We then moved onto the third floor where the children are known to play with the balls in the building. We saw the ball, but no figure. As we moved on to the fifth floor, I was getting discouraged. But as soon as we reach the fifth floor, the tour guides' flashlight went off then on again without the guides touching the light.

We saw two more balls in the a room beside the nurse's station, another hot spot of activity. We looked around to see no figures about and then the tour was over. As we descended down the stairs past each door that led to each floor, I kept looking through the window of each door to look into the hallway to see if I could see anything. As we passing the door to the second floor, I looked in to see what looked like a shadow of a boy. He looked to be shorter than me and he was standing very still, looking at me it seems. I looked and saw his head and I screamed. My mom had just went past the window before I did. She said she saw what looked to be two figures standing there. She had freaked out after I did, because she then knew I had seen what she had seen before.

But I only saw the child's shadow, while Evan was behind me, waiting to look into the window. He looked in to see the other figure who reached eye level with him. He said it looked to be a woman with long hair, standing there. A woman from our tour had mentioned there has been a woman apparition with long hair spotted in the building. There was also mention of children apparitions spotted on the third floor. One being known as Timmy, a boy who likes to play with the ball.

After seeing the figure that looked to be a child, I had almost cried out of pure fear, but I stopped myself. I remembered that they had mentioned a boy spirit. I remembered that he looked to be shorter than I was. I realized I had saw Timmy, the boy who loved to play with the ball. I realized I had finally saw something paranormal, something I had been waiting to see for a very long time. I had saw nothing like that before in my life. I still get chills just thinking and talking about it with others.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
