My Cats' Favorite "Toys"

Many may seem unconventional, but I am sure that tons of cat owners will agree their little felines go bezerk for these ridiculous "toys."

I have had several cats, and these are what I have found to be their favorite toys. I have yet to find any toys that my new kitty Antifa likes, but my cats that are with my parents, Zazzles and Timber, really like to claim random items as their own toys whether or not we want them to.

Tiny Mouse Toy

Starting on an ordinary note, you can find these under the couch in pretty much every cat owner's house. Zazzles and Timber's favorite ones are the little fluffy ones and aren't the biggest fans of the plastic-y ones.

Feather "Teasers"

I'm not going to lie, I had no idea they were called this until I had to look up what they are called, but they are a huge hit with my cats in the past. Zazzles will drag her feathers across the entire house and up the stairs just to leave it at your feet as an 'offering.'

Toys Containing Catnip

The only toy that Antifa actually plays with is her banana that is stuffed with catnip. Catnip is always a hit with my cats, but that's not a surprise; cats like to get lit too.

Receipts

Why spend money on cat toys when you can just crumple up receipts, am I right?

When my mom balances the checkbook, she crumples up the receipts after writing them down, and Zazzles goes nuts for it; she has so many toys yet we will find these all over the place.

Various Insects

Spooky spider Zazzles bothers

It is so funny watching Zazzels play with spiders, flies and whatever other bugs she finds; she literally just plays with them. She'll bat them around and will repeatedly pick them up in her mouth and drop them, but her gentle little soul never kills them (as much as the bug probably wishes she would after 10 minutes of enduring that). She'll sometimes bring them to my mom as a special gift which mom does not exactly appreciate but... oh well.

Plastic Easter Eggs

No matter what time of the year it is, I will always find a couple of these hidden under the couch or hidden among Zazzles' and Timber's other toys. I don't have the heart to take them away from them so... they belong to them now.

Christmas Baubles

Christmas Baubles

My cats may bat at the low hanging baubles on the Christmas tree, but most of the time I see Zazzles playing with these is anytime but the holiday season.

Rubber Bands

My least favorite cat toy

I get pretty stressed when I see rubber bands on the floor in the house since they are choking hazards, but regardless of how I feel or where we hide them, my kitties always seen to manage to find and play with them.

My Heart

Me and Zazzles

All of my cats do have one toy they all equally love: my heart. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ How could I not include this?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
