Dear cutest dog in the world,
My bedroom is not your bathroom… despite what you may think. My friends are also not your bathroom (Sorry Katherine and Maddy), and my toes are not chew toys. Sooner or later you need to realize that grass and twigs are not food, and waking me up before 7:00am is not beneficial for either of us. I can forgive you now for your many mistakes, because let’s face it, you’re adorable. However, when I call your name you need to come to me. I’m not trying to boss you around and tell you how to live your life, I am just trying to protect you! You are tiny and clumsy, and scared of your water bowl… I do not think you’re ready to be making too many decisions on your own right now.
I know sometimes you do not think that I have your best interest at heart. You often become upset with me when I put you in your crate, or move you away from the stairs. I swear I'm not trying to spoil all the fun. You're a dog, so I am unable to reason with you, but if I could I would explain that you are too small for stairs and instead of climbing down them they will be nothing more than a rocky slip 'n slide for you.
I need to ask that you please stop climbing over the baby gate. It is there for a reason! You are not supposed to go passed it. Somehow you manage to crawl over it, and I have never seen how, but despite your little body and lack of thumbs you manage to get over it everyday. Any barricade I create to keep you contained you escape. You're a clever little brat I'll give you that. However, I would appreciate you using that cleverness for something else like, oh I don't know... pooping outside?
Okay, sometimes I sleep in too late and you do your business in my room. That is my fault and I will accept it, but when I am sitting in the family room watching TV and I walk into the kitchen to pour myself a glass of water, I do not want to see a little gift from in front of the fridge...
Despite all the chaos and the havoc you cause, despite how frustrating and irritating you can become... I love you pup. You bring me joy. I love playing fetch with you in the yard, I love when I leave the room and I hear that little bell on your collar coming closer and closer, and I love how you are sitting under my chair as I type this, patiently waiting to go upstairs to bed. I cannot wait to spend this summer with you, and I am looking forward to having you as a study buddy next school year.
With love,
Your biggest fan.
