In May of 2016 I learned that I was intolerant to Gluten and Soy, which is in most foods you see on the market. Although this was slightly heart-breaking to hear, I have been lucky enough to find the foods I still enjoy even with the limitations of my diet! Here are the 4 things (from restaurants) that I still LOVE to eat!
1. Sushi
Although many types of sushi have soy in it (with the sauces), I have found many different types that please my appetite! Here are a few that I particularly love:
1. California Roll (Avocado and Imitation Crab)
2. Rainbow roll (California roll with various raw fish on top)
3. Sashimi (Pure raw fish)
2. In-N-Out Burger
Cheeseburgers were one of the things I thought I would miss the most. However, upon research, I was able to eat a burger that I enjoy better than I liked before and its also healthier for those who don't have my allergies. Here is my order:
Cheeseburger: Protein style (no bun), No sauce (has soybean oil in it), add grilled onions and tomatoes!
SIDE NOTE: Fries are naturally gluten and soy free!
3. Taco Bell
Yum, Taco Bell! My favorite fast food restaurant, and one of the easiest to go gluten-free! Their hard tacos are made from corn, which is naturally gluten-free, and super yummy to eat! Although their meat can possibly have soy in it, you can easily avoid this by getting beans instead! Since I am only intolerant to soy, my order is okay for me! Here is my go-to order:
Crunchy Taco: add sour cream and their signature hot sauce!
4. Pizza
Pizza was always my go-to when I wasn't gluten-free, so this was definitely a struggle. However, I was able to find a few places that serve gluten-free pizza! Here are my go-to's:
1. Domino's Pizza
2. Jules Pizza
3. California Pizza Kitchen
