My 2016 Goals Told Through Rick And Morty

I have never connected to a show more than Justin Rolland's and Dan Harmon's Rick and Morty. The show has a perfect combination of realism and humor that gives it authenticity. I can not think of a better way of introducing my 2016 goals than using Rick and Morty to help me do so.

1. Smiling More And Talking Less

I'm heading into 2106 with the less you talk the more you learn attitude.

2. Eat Healthy

This is the most generic new year's goal but it's also the hardest. Some of us can't help being be attracted to bad foods. I blame it on my family. My father was a bad eater and so was his father. It's a sad cycle that I will have to break.

3. Be More Positive!

This year I'm doing my best proton impersonation... I hate myself.

4. Dance More

This goal should explain itself.

5.Find My Purpose

Life has pulled me in many different directions. In 2016 I hope to find the direction that makes me the happiest.

6. Avoid Trouble

Like every year jail is a place I would not like to be in. So this year I'm keeping my head down and my nose clean.

7. Cut Back On My TV Time

My unhealthy amount of TV hours needs to be left in 2015.

8. Buy a Car

I'm getting extraordinarily exhausted of the shoelace express.

9. Travel More

Big city living is calling my name and I need to fall to her sirens.

10. Regret Nothing

Remember that Jesus, Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr were all assassinated. That means no matter what you do someone will always hate you. So don't worry about it and do you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
