You know the feeling. You’re either tired of your coworkers, sick of midterms, or just need a break. When I’m in this situation, I need a cozy movie and a nap. Even if you’ve already seen them tons of times, here are 10 movies that always make me feel better after a long day.
1. Wall-E
Robots in love? A post-apocalyptic world? No one walks anymore? Get ready to feel every single emotion.
2. Sixteen Candles
This film is made of teenage dreams. Brace yourselves for the coming wave of nostalgia. Spoiler alert: no one remembers Samantha's 16th birthday. It must be an 80s thing.
3. The Breakfast Club
Classic teen angst. Detention. 5 high school stereotypes. Everyone has to see it.
4. Sleepless in Seattle
Tom Hanks? Tom Hanks finding love on a radio show? That his son called?! I'm sold.
5. Boss Baby
Alec Baldwin plays a baby in a suit. The new brothers hate each other at first, but that doesn't last long. As someone who cringes at the thought of babies, this film was just my cup of tea.
6. Mean Girls
I can recite this film in my sleep. That's why her hair is so big - it's full of secrets.
7. Forrest Gump
This movie isn't the happiest, but it always makes me feel better. I realize something new about it every time I watch it. "Wholesome" is the right word.
8. The Devil Wears Prada
Another film that I know practically by heart. Fun fact: Anna Wintour, the basis for the character of Miranda Priestly, showed up to the film premiere wearing Prada.
9. Breakfast at Tiffany's
I wish every night out ended as glamorously as Holly Golightly eating breakfast outside of the Tiffany store. No one handles bad days with that level of grace.
10. Grease
If you don't automatically start humming this song just by looking at the photo, it's a sign that you need to watch Grease ASAP.
