Due to the impending snow days in the next week, I decided it might be a good idea to compile a list of some of my favorite movies to watch while snowed in. I've watched all of these and can guarantee that there's one for you on this list because of the variety in genre.
1. "Titanic"
Basic, I know. A must watch though for those who need to get a good cry out or to see an epic love story at sea on one of the greatest ships to ever sail the ocean.
2. "The Conjuring"
By far, my favorite horror movie. A combination of great filmography with perfectly placed scares in moments you'd expect them least.
3. "Gone Girl"
A mystery/thriller centered around the life of protagonist Amy Dunne, who successfully is able to frame her husband for murder. You'll have to watch to find out why!
4. "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban"
Definitely the best movie of eight in the Harry Potter series. This one is most aligned with J.K. Rowling's writing of the third book in the series.
5. "The Breakfast Club"
Truly a classic, a very chill movie all around. If you like movies about angsty teenagers this is the one for you.
6. "Pretty Woman"
Julia Roberts is phenomenal in this, enough said.
7. "Lincoln"
Historical movies are my jam, and Abraham Lincoln is also one of my favorite presidents. I recommend if you're into learning about American History, and also if you're into learning about one of the greatest presidents of the United States.
8. "The Last Song"
The best Nicholas Sparks movie in my personal opinion. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are actually the cutest in this movie.
9. "Hidden Figures"
A squad of smart boss ladies for those of you who like movies about women empowerment.
10. "Footloose"
Catchy music paired with fun dance breaks, a killer combination if you ask me.
11. "Legally Blonde"
Elle Woods is such a goal, she turns her messy breakup into a complete 180 and is able to attend one of the most prestigious law schools in the country. Also, a movie with a lot of hysterical moments.
12. "The Princess Diaries"
One of my favorite movies of all time, I never get tired of watching it.
13. "The Wolf Of Wall Street"
Leo DiCaprio absolutely kills the role of Jordan Belfort in this outrageous comedic drama full of outrageous scenes.
14. "She's The Man"
This movie brings back memories of summer in 2014 when my friends and I would watch it at least 4 times a week because of Channing Tatum.
15. "Dirty Dancing"
I've watched this movie at least 100 times, and I get instantaneously happy every time I watch it.
16. "The Parent Trap"
If this wasn't one of your favorite childhood movies, all I can ask is why?
17. "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"
David Fincher is an amazing director and this thriller will make sure your eyes are glued to the screen.
18. "Clueless"
Every time I watch this movie I always end up saying "As if!" as a response to people for a few days after.
19. "The Great Gatsby"
Another Leo DiCaprio movie on the list, but let's face it this one definitely needed to be included.
20. "Les Misérables"
By far my favorite musical made into a movie. This one will definitely leave you in tears by the ending.
21. "Finding Nemo"
The one lesson to be learned from this movie is to "just keep swimming."
22. "Miracle"
An inspirational movie about the 1980 Olympic USA amateur men's hockey team versus the world's greatest, Russia. This one is a classic and must-watch for any sports fan.
23. "Ocean's Eleven"
Who doesn't love George Clooney and Brad Pitt?
