Are you a cry baby when it comes to some movies? Well I certainly am! Here is a list of movies that are tear jerkers that certainly showed my sensitive side.
1. Lion King
Hakuna Matata means "no worries for the rest of your days", except for when those around you die. It was definitely a tear jerker to see Mufasa die.
2. Iron Giant
Watching the Iron Giant and falling in love with his compassion for human life made it heartbreaking to see him explode. "Oh why did you have to sacrifice yourself you big lovable hunk of metal?"
3. Stand by Me
Nothing can break these friends up, at least that's what we think. It's hard seeing how best friends eventually break apart. Not to mention, depending on your age group, you probably did not know that the character, Chris, who died in the movie also died in real life.
4. Panther
Nothing like a true story to do the trick. Seeing how revolutionaries with good intention can be taken down and infiltrated made me shed a few tears.
5. To Kill a Mockingbird
The movie (and book) that taught us that judging others was not the way to go. However, the sad part(s) was the death of the black accused (of rape) man who was innocent killed and finally seeing "Boo" as the timid man who was lonely.
6. Soul Food
Although seeing all the good food in the warms your heart, seeing the head matriarch of the family die and witness how it can impact the family will leave you in tears.
7. Riding in the Car with Boys
Okay, maybe this isn't a conventional tear jerker, but seeing when someone can go down the wrong road in life and never make it to where they need to be is kind of depressing.
8. Set It Off
Yes, the scene where Cleo died, all the way to the credits with Jimi Hendrix's "Hey Joe" playing in the background are the moments tears involuntarily run down your face.
9. Titanic
Who didn't cry when Rose pretended there was not enough room on the headboard and she had to let him go to the bottom of the sea?
10. Higher Learning
When you sit down and watch this movie, you finally learn what "higher learning" is, which is being in real life situations and using critical thinking. Although in this movie the situations are dealing with race, homosexuality, and gender.
11. Boyz N' The Hood
Even though it was sad to see the "good" brother, Ricky, get shot and killed, the tear jerker is seeing the "bad" brother, "Doughboy," get murdered.
12. Forrest Gump
Last, but certainly not least, Forrest Gump. After watching this movie for the first time, I can't help but cry within the first 15 minutes. If you think about it, Jenny never really had a chance, the fact that everyone who had plans in the movie life did not go according to it, and how beautiful life can be if you just follow your heart.
