Like most children, I grew up on Disney. My favorite princess was Cinderella, I could sing along to almost any song, and I rocked Disney Trivia (when my sister wasn't playing). But Disney isn't the only company to produce movies that I adored throughout my childhood and still do today.

All Dogs Go To Heaven

Warning: This movie will make you cry! But you will love it. It

An American Tale

Who doesn't love a good adorable little mouse movie? This movie is super cute and if you enjoy The Great Mouse Detective you just might enjoy this one too.

Cats Don't Dance

My sister watched this sooooo many times and of course, I did too. It's for anyone who loves cats, animals, singing and dancing, and maniacal little girls.

Charlotte's Web

I watched this movie every time I went to my aunt's house. I affectionately called it "The peeg movie." And in my humble opinion, this will forever be better than the Dakota Fanning version; this one has Debbie Reynolds. The movie industry should never mess with the classics.

FernGully

If you enjoyed Tim Curry as Frank N. Furter then you'll enjoy him as Hexxus in this movie that teaches little kids the dangers of destroying the rain forest.

Iron Giant

Friendly space giants made of metal, what's not to love? It will forever stand the test of time.

Kiki's Delivery Service

I love this movie so much that I had to buy it on DVD. I always wanted to be a witch and as a kid, I lived vicariously through Kiki.

Little Nemo: Adventures of Slumberland

Now, this movie is not for the faint of heart or for children who scare easily. There are a few scenes that are rather scary when you're little. Once you get passed that thought it really is a rather cute movie.

Once Upon A Forest

This movie filled with cute animals but that also teaches children about protecting the enviroment.

Spirited Away

This movie gave me the creeps the first time I watched it but I kept watching it. There's not much of a plot but you'll find that you don't care.

The Brave Little Toaster

Talking inanimate objects off on an adventure, it's kind of like Toy Story in a way but with a toaster, a vaccumm, a blanket, a radio, and a lamp.

The Flight of Dragons

I love, love, love this movie. When I pulled up an image of dragons flying I could hear Don McLean singing the opening sequence that's how much I love this movie. Its plot is based on science and logic vs. magic and belief. If you haven't watched it you really should, you won't be disappointed.

The Land Before Time

I have so many of Little Foot's adventures on VHS still that's how much I love them. You can't go wrong no matter which one you watch, a rare quality among sequels.

The Pagemaster

This is another one of those that my sister watched a lot. Books, magic, imagination, quirky characters, this movie will leave you wanting more. And it'll teach you the power of a good book.

The Swan Princess

If, after all of the movies I've listed above you're still craving a good ole princess movie then you're in luck. This movie has it all, the prince, the princess, animal sidekicks, and bad guys.

Thumbelina

Still craving some musical numbers? Well, then you'll enjoy this movie.

Those are one's that I watched and adored as a child now here are three honorable mentions.

Balto

Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron

Whether or not I watched these as a kid I do not remember but my best friend Shannon did and loved them. As an adult, I have now watched and loved both.

We're Back: A Dinosaur Story

I know I did not watch this one as a child but my boyfriend did and I was subjected to it a few months back. I can't say it was my favorite but it was definitely worth the watch.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
