Spring Break Forever

Why we should live by that motto everyday of the year.

Spring Break Forever

“Spring Break Forever!”

No, not partying forever, although that’s fun, but spring break forever. And what I mean by that is, forever to no responsibilities, living life and taking a break without a care in the world.

Spring break is a time where college students don’t just go to the nearest beach and party, but it’s a time where we all just let go of our stress, our worries and anything else that is going on in our lives. Midterms have usually just passed and we’re all ready to not stress out over studying, exams and classes. I think as students we tend to get so caught up in our day to day lives and making sure that we get an A on that exam or pass that one class that we forget to relieve stress. So yeah, spring break forever. Forever to not putting so much pressure on ourselves and giving ourselves a chance to just let go.

Spring break typically is a week you will remember for the rest of your life. Whether you made memories with your best friends or people you just met, I guarantee you there will always be at least one story you remember for life. When else in your life will you meet people from six different states and two different countries all within five minutes? So yeah, spring break forever. Forever to living life, making new friends and making memories.

Spring break — yeah it’s a break, yeah we have to go back to reality — but it’s a break we all need. Even if you didn’t escape to your nearest beach this week or go on a trip to some tropical location you still need this break. You need to give yourself a break and not worry about school or the latest drama going on in your life and just not care for one week! I’m not saying just ditch all your responsibilities — I’m saying just don’t stress out and don’t worry about what the guy/girl you’re kind of into is doing this spring break, what your summer plans are or how the heck you’re going to get by with a C in that one class. Just take a week to relax, because we all need that.

So yeah, live your life by the words, “Spring break forever!” Because we all need a break from life sometimes.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
