15 Different Moods And Their Matching Musical Numbers

We all need a little bit of music to describe our lives.

Music is incredibly important in my life. I listen to it when I wake up, before I go to sleep, and multiple times throughout the day. I have 605 songs in my Spotify library, and that number grows daily.

Needless to say, I have a song for just about every feeling I could possibly have, from extreme sadness to obnoxious happiness. Here are 15 examples of said feelings and its corresponding tune.

1. I want to stare into the void and think about the dark infinity of life - "The Sound of Silence" by Disturbed

While Simon and Garfunkel were the original writers and recorders of this song, Disturbed definitely took the track and made it into something much more dark and soulless. It's a cool song, don't get me wrong, but I would definitely suggest listening to it when you're questioning human existence not when you're making a wedding playlist.

2. I'm in love, I'm in love, and I don't care who knows it! - "Make Me Feel So Good" by Dan Skinner, Adam Skinner, Dave James

I originally discovered this song when trolling on YouTube instead of doing homework (naturally). It made me so irrationally happy, I couldn't even describe it. Also, the girl in the video is everyone who's in that stage of love that makes others want to applaud and punch a wall at the same time.

3. I'm a hot, sexy BAMF, and everyone in the club knows it - "High Heels." by JoJo

This song makes me want to slap on a Little Black Dress, strap into a pair of red stilettos, and march out into the streets to break some hearts.

I don't even own a Little Black Dress or red stilettos either.

4. I'm crying because life is completely awful and unfair - "Terrible Things" by Mayday Parade

This song starts out sad and slow, but the real gut-wrencher is the story told by the song. If you aren't crying by the end of it, or at least thoroughly depressed, I'm going to have some questions about your emotional capacity.

5. I'm crying because they broke my heart and love is a lie - "Say Something" by A Great Big World ft. Christine Aguilera

This song is not only about the pain that goes with a break up, it also talks about the pain of having your heart broken and finding out love is a lie. Combine that with slow piano and wonderful, tear-jerking harmonies, and you have the perfect breakup song to listen to in the fetal position.

6. Life is weird and sucks sometimes, but I'm still breathing, so that's really cool - "I Wanna Get Better" by Bleachers

I really love Bleachers in general, because their songs can be listened to when you're feeling a myriad of emotions, from depression to desperation to devotion. I like this song because it makes me feel like somehow, some way, life is going to get better. Hey, it could be going so much worse, right?

7. I must flail my limbs in excitement RIGHT NOW- "I Love It" - Icona Pop ft. Charlie XCX OR "Love On Top" by Beyoncé

I don't care who you are, you get down to these songs. I don't mean that you'll dance like you know what you're doing. You will dance like you've lost all sense of what normal movement is.

It's a simple matter of fact. Don't try to deny it.

8. I don't know how to sexy-dance, but I'm trying really hard - "Work From Home" - Fifth Harmony ft. Ty Dolla $ign

I don't know how to twerk, and you don't know how to twerk, but we're both twerking to this song.

9. I really wish I was dramatically walking away from a flaming/exploding building - "Pity Party" by Melanie Martinez or "Sail" by AWOLNATION

Thudding bass mixed with slightly angry lyrics make me wish slow-motion was a real-life feature. I like to imagine that I'm wearing shades and in an action movie leaving absolute destruction behind.

10. I really, really want to rap right now, even though I'm wildly unqualified - "The Real Slim Shady" by Eminem

This is one of the three-ish rap songs I actually know, which is good, because I'm the whitest person imaginable. I like to throw down to this song while driving by myself so no one can judge me, and I heavily suggest you do the same.

11. I just met someone who just might be the one, so I'm going to act odd around them for the next ever - "Give Me A Try" by The Wombats

Picture this: You finally get the courage to tell your crush you like them. You march up to them, look them dead in the eyes, and say, "Lovely weather we're will be having in the present moment." Trust me, you're not alone, and this song captures that entire feeling perfectly.

12. I'm throwing back to my angsty teen years something bad - "Teenagers" by My Chemical Romance or "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" by Panic! At the Disco

If these tunes don't remind you of black clothing and questionable decisions in your youth, I'm calling you a liar right here and now.

13. I'm a budding Broadway star, and no one can change my mind - "Defying Gravity" by The Original Broadway Cast of Wicked

I don't know if it's the inspirational message or the amazing combination of Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, but I will sing this song with all my soul. Sign me up, Broadway!

14. I'm feeling just a teeny, weeny country right now - "International Harvester" by Craig Morgan

I don't care who you are, if you're listening to this song, you want to channel some inner redneck twang. Remember, combine as many words as possible and hit those hard R's. "Imma innernational harvesterrrrrr!"

15. Yes, I most certainly belt this much on the daily - "At Last" by Etta James

No one, and I mean no one, can sing Etta like Etta. So, you just have to be happy with singing it with as much soul, emotion, and love you have. You'll end up sounding somewhat like you're serenading someone in a cheesy rom-com, but you'll be happy at least.

There you have it, folks! So, keep on feelin' the feels, because there will always be a song to go along.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
