The best part of writing for Odyssey is that you can workshop many ideas and visions. So I'm going to try something that has probably been done in order improve my weekly article production. Monthly shoutouts will be broken down into 3-4 categories: Entertainment, Sports, Politics, and something about Twitter/Memes. Now, I know this is probably cliché I get swept away with school and other activities that I lose track of all the news each individual week. So here we are with the first edition of Monthly Shoutouts: March.

Entertainment: Shoutout to The Weeknd

Most things in life are finite, including the relationship between Selena Gomez and The Weeknd. In his new EP, "My Dear Melancholy," The Weeknd went in his ever so emotional bag of tricks to pull out a project that commemorates the struggles of a broken relationship. Many speculate that the EP is about former lover, and wizard, Selena Gomez. Or could it just be that we're getting back the old Weeknd we fell in love with in the first place.

A broken soul who fills the voids of his rockstar life with a lust for drugs and an ache for a women's pleasure. But if it is indeed about Selena, then she deserves a shoutout for ruining the lives of pop stars everywhere. *cough* JUSTIN BIEBER *cough*. I personally have been waiting for a post-Starboy project mostly because I love how the solid production, and his outstanding vocals, overshadow the fact that The Weeknd really needs to hire a psychiatrist. So shoutout to The Weeknd for using two red pills to take the blues away!

Sports: Shoutout to March Madness

Ahhh, the most investigated of all American sports, good ol' College Hoops. In a sport where the country collectively buys into bet money on a bunch of 18-year-olds playing a game, the NCAA's corrupt money maker had one pure thing to come out of America's favorite tournament. The University of Loyola-Chicago was ranked 11th in the tournament and went all the to the Final Four. But the true star of the tournament was a 92-year-old nun named Sister Jean, the face unlikely face of an underdog that used the power God and a zone defense to make a huge run in the tourney.

But my main shoutout goes to Sister Jean, mostly because nobody knew a single player or the name of the coach on the Loyola roster; but somehow an old nun in a wheelchair took all the credit for Loyola's run. So Shoutout to Sister Jean, for proving that America's attention span for sports is based off whether if there's a face we can apply the entire sport or not.

Politics: Shoutout to #MarchForOurLives

How could I not give a shoutout to the most intriguing act of unity of the month - perhaps even the year? The March For Our Lives movement is the perfect example of how my generations are on par with the rest. After several shootings this early in the year, gun control has once again been trusted into our political atmosphere. Now, whether if its the right thing to do or not to do is solely up to you. I'm just for any representation of unity that can possibly better the country and protects our children. So Shoutout to #MarchForOurLives, and its influence on more acts lead by the new age of Americans.

Twitter: Shoutout to Sanaa Lathan...

The best part of Twitter is that it can combine a suspenseful mystery with pop culture icons. Actress, Tiffany Haddish, told a story of a mysterious person biting "Queen Bey" on the face. This of course not only puts the Bey Hive in disarray but the nation; trying to figure out who bit our national treasure. After relentless investigating, and an infinite amount of Twitter threads, the culprit was found! Sanaa Lathan was the fearless deviant who bit the queen and should be banned from entering the sacred House of Carter! Or at least apologize and make plenty of money off this. I mean if I was her I'd write a book on how Beyonce tasted(probably like Lemonade or Hot Sauce from her purse). So Shoutout to Sanaa Lathan, for not only biting The President but for taking a bite out of all of our hearts.

P.S.

These are just some personal shoutouts from my life that I'd like to give, mostly because I'm away at school and I can be busy and forget to tell them when I'm thinking about them...

1. Shoutout to my friends who I graduated from high school with. I miss you guys even though I really started talking to you people during our last year together.

2. Shoutout to Troy University for taking all my money and hoping there's a huge payoff when I graduate and that I will somehow become famous and credit you for my dedication.

3. And shoutout to Odyssey and our viewers. I hate you guys when you ignore my article about sports in Atlanta but love you when I write about how I hate my zodiac sign...It's a love-hate relationship and I'm totally okay with that. I guess...

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
