Recently there has been some uproar in regards to a casting choice that was made involving the new Harry Potter prequel "Fantastic Beasts: and Where to Find Them." The choice in question? Whether or not Johnny Depp was a good move for the series after the accusations of abuse that his ex-wife, Amber Heard, presented earlier this year.
The only issue is that by April or May this year, the movie would have already been in post-production and, there really isn't any other way to say it so here ya go. Amber coming out about it then, even if it is true, would not have affected the casting choices of the director and everyone else involved. Sorry, not sorry.
I actually am quite surprised that I haven't seen many people defending Johnny Depp or the artistic choices of the directors, but I did find this post and an article at Forbes.com that said if this is what the directors and J.K. Rowling want to do, then they can.

Here's the deal guys. All actors have secrets and dark pasts and crap. ALL OF THEM DO, even your precious little One Direction and Justin Bieber and Robert Downey Jr.
Johnny Depp is not the only celebrity to ever do anything that is horrible. Have you looked at Tom Cruise's life? He's insane, but people still love him. They still flock to his movies.
I can guarantee you there are probably A LOT of celebrities who have abused people in their life, but just because they did that horrible thing doesn't mean you can't enjoy a movie they're in.
Johnny Depp is a good actor. He is still good at what he does for a living, despite the possibility of him doing something bad.
Do you think people (let's go with college students for this scenario) should be punished because they were rude to their roommate? Do you think their grade should be lowered because of that?
This is what you're asking for. You are asking that Johnny Depp be punished for his social life which is completely unrelated to his professional life. THIS IS HYPOCRITICAL.
You would be very annoyed and feel like you were being treated unfairly if you received a bad grade on your paper because of something that has nothing to do with it.
So why ask that of a celebrity? I smell hypocrites and the Harry Potter fandom is full of them right now.
But either way, it doesn't matter what you think of Johnny Depp--he's in the movie no matter what (seeing as it's coming out in about 2 weeks) and so you are going to have to learn to either enjoy his acting or miss out on a 5-movie series that is supposed to be excellent. Your. Choice.
