Mom, I cannot even put into words for my gratitude for you. Your the most selfless, and most caring person I know. I am devastated that I cannot be with you on this special day, but I thought the next best thing I could do was show you in words how special of a person you truly are.
#1 Your my number one cheerleader. No matter how crazy my ideas can be your are always there to support me. From the countless of sports I took on as a child, to school activities, to picking out the right university, you always had my back. I am truly blessed to have a mom that I can also call my best friend. This year was one of the hardest years I took on with taking countless of credits, changing my major and nervously applying to a program that seemed all to new to me. Thank you for always pushing me. Thank you for believing in me when I didn't believe in myself. No matter how challenging this year got, you always reminded me and encouraged me to be the strong, independent person you raised me to be.
#2 You tell me what I need to hear even when I don't want to hear it. Okay this is a hard one to admit, since I inherited the delightful stubborn trait you passed down to me, but Mom you usually end up being right about things. Thank you for guiding me, directing me, and encouraging me when I seem to be down or confused. Your love as a mother is truly admirable and I hope I can love as much as you do for your children. Thank you for loving me when I push you away. Thank you for never leaving or giving up when things got tough. Your such a kind soul and I cannot be more thankful for having such a warm and affectionate mother.
#3 You gave me a foundation for my faith. Your such an amazing example of what a godly woman is and should be. You introduced me to such an amazing relationship with our God. You raised me to be strong in my own beliefs and to have my own journey with my faith. I cannot thank you enough for this. This is truly something I can't even express in words. Thank you.
#4 You are able to be goofy and playful. No matter how old you get mom, you still act like a fun loving 20 something year old girl who loves having fun. This means the world to me. Its rare to have a relationship with your mother where you can have random Dance Party's, Wine nights, and a whole lot more! You taught me to appreciate living in the moment. You have said countless of times that life is too short to be scared, fearful and in your words "to be worried about that dumb crap". Mom your so right. Thank you for being not only the best fun loving mom I could have, but for being a friend too!
#5 Your strength is so empowering. Mom i have honestly say you are one of the most strongest people I know. You have such an incredible story. With all the storms that have entered your life, you never once let it affect our family. You always had the best interest in us kids and always put us before you. You never let me see or feel the pain you have faced. Mom I couldn't describe a more humble and courageous woman. I look up to you more than you could ever know. I strive to be as strong and courageous as my wonderful Mom everyday.
#6 Mom you are one heck of a cook. Say no more! if theres a party, celebration, or even just me having a couple friends over, I can always count on you to cook up a delicious feast. Growing up with amazing chocolate chip cookies, home cooked meals every dinner, Amazing breakfast buffets and countless of desserts on Christmas (well every holiday) was literally such a treat. I could never think of a time where I didn't look forward to moms cooked meals; and since now being away from home I appreciate your mad skills at cooking even more. Even though your amazing cooking skills definitely contributed to my awkward chubby stage in life, I wouldn't take back those amazing family dinners we had.
#7 You get me. Its no secret being the youngest of the family I sometimes am the sister that is ignored. lol. I know I know, the stigma being the youngest you get most of the attention and is spoiled and blah blah blah Bull crap. lol. (if your not the youngest you don't know what I'm talking about!) I usually am the last one to hear about the important family events but if it wasn't for you I probably wouldn't hear about them at all! Thank you for always keeping me in the loop and getting me! I don't know how to describe it other than that, You just know when I need my mom. You know when something isn't right or when I need my time alone. Thank you mom for knowing parts of me that Im still discovering everyday.
#8 Thank you for the countless financial support You and Dad have for me. School is expensive and if it wasn't for you and dad I wouldn't be able to chase after my dream of becoming a Sonographer. Without your support I wouldn't have been able to live and find community at GVSU. I cannot thank you enough.
#9 You listen. Thank you for being such a great listener when I need someone to just hear me. Even when I'm on rant sessions or when I just make zero sense, you are always there. Thank you for just being simply there when I needed a shoulder to cry on. Thank you for your constant encouragement and advice when I felt lost. Thank you for always letting me know that everything was going to be okay.
#10 Thank you for loving me unconditionally from day one. Thank you for being my mom. Mom even before I was born you were looking out for me when others were not. When doctors thought I could be born with down syndrome and advised you to think about abortion you fought for me. You've been fighting for me all my life. I love that you would love me no matter how I came out. Your empathy and unconditional love for your children is amazing. I truly am blessed to call you my Mother and hope I can be as good as a mom one day as you are to me.
Happy Mothers Day Mom!
I love you!
Love,
Your daughter, Rielly
