My dear fraternity brothers and sorority sisters...Are you ever pacing back and forth just looking for the absolute PERFECT mixer idea with your mates? Look no further! Below, I have listed 15 unbelievably awesome mixer ideas.

1. Glow in the dark

Black lights, neon paint, and white shirts...get ready to get down and dirty because no one leaves without being covered in NEON!!!

2. USA

Nothing is better than sporting the colors of the USA! Your party is sure to be one of freedom and bravery with this theme.

3. Masquerade

Everyone likes a little mystery in their life. I know that it most likely won't be like the movies where if you're wearing a mask, you have no idea who they are unless it's a full mask, then I can see it. But, who knows? Maybe at this party, you will leave with a princess or prince charming. Let's just hope that you don't have that much alcohol in your system.

4. Wild, wild west

Even sorority girls like to get down and dirty every once in a while. You are sure to accomplish it with this backyard barnyard theme! Bales of hay, truck beds loaded down with beer and line dancing is sure to make your night one to remember.

5. Angels vs. demons

The title itself is pretty explanatory. You come as an angel or a demon! If it's held at a multiple-story house, make one level hell and the other heaven! After all, we are all saints and sinners at some point in our life.

6. Slumber party

Two of my favorite things are social events and pajamas. Why not combine them into one? That's right. It's a SLUMBER PARTY, greek style!

7. Halloween

The classic dress-up holiday of the year. This party is sure to be interesting with the killer costume contest at the end of the night.

8. When I grow up

This one is my personal favorite. Every one of us when we were little had dreams of becoming something. Whether it be a rock star, princess or astronaut! Well, that may not have been what we chose for our route and life, but we sure can be one for one night! So, put on your crowns and hold your heads high because we are ruling this castle (at least for the night).

9. Thrift shop

This one is sure to make this a night to remember. Let's party, THRIFT SHOP STYLE! Go to a thrift store and put together the WILDEST outfit you can find and wear it to the party. I can't wait to see everyone's attire!

10. Christmas

Ugly sweaters and dirty Santa. This is sure to be one jolly night.

11. St. Patrick's Day

It's the Luck of The Irish! Kiss me! (don't though) This party is GREEN THEMED. So, make sure not to forget to wear this color to the party or your arm is sure going to be sore from being pinched constantly.

12. Mardi Gras

Well, it isn't St. Patrick's Day, but it sure is full of green confetti! And yellow and purple... This party is going to be a WILD one, so get ready to kick back and enjoy some King's Cake!

13. Hawaiian luau

Grass skirts, coconut bras, straw hats...I think you know what this means! HAWAIIAN LUAU! Get ready to spit fire with this hot theme and do a traditional dance. Make sure to video it so we can all watch you embarrass yourself later.

14. Mathletes and athletes

This one is pretty simple to understand. Mathletes and athletes...I hope you have your suspenders and jerseys ready ladies and gents!

15. Toga

Last, but CERTAINLY not the least, the traditional and infamous TOGA PARTY! Find your cutest bed set and get ready to get comfortable because things are about to get crazy up in here.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
