Your Mistakes Don't Define Who You Are

In order to succeed, you have to fail.

Throughout life, mistakes are going to be made. No one can go through life mistake-free because there isn't a perfect way to live your life. Mistakes are bound to happen, even if you are trying not to make them. No one is perfect, but some people can improve themselves by learning from the mistakes they make.

Like Will Smith says, "Some of the best lessons are learned from failure." This goes to show that one of the most successful actors/singers believes that mistakes/failure can change people for the better and can, in some cases, be the best teacher.

I, like many others, have made many mistakes throughout my life and I try to not let them affect me in a negative way. Now, of course, I don't try to make them, but sometimes they will just happen and there is nothing you can do about it. The way I look at my mistakes is that I try to learn from them and make myself a better person. Not only will doing this help me become a better person, but everyone around me will be happier because I'm a better person. I will try and push them to also become a better person and have them learn from my mistakes, just as I did.

Mistakes are meant to happen because they should be used as a teaching tools for people. People who don't use mistakes for learning lessons will never become a better person. In order to succeed, you have to fail. Failure teaches us what success is because, most of the time, people don't succeed the first time through and it takes multiple tries before success is found.

Look at the Wright Brothers for example and their attempts to make the plane. They failed many times before they actually succeeded. This is true for many other inventions that have shaped our society today. People who learn from their mistakes tend to be happier because once they fix their mistakes, they will see how they have bettered themselves.

For the people who stick with that person through their mistakes, they will be able to see the progress they made and it will strengthen the bonds between the two. The person who fixed their mistake will be able to teach others and try to help them not make the same mistakes they have made.

Mistakes are something that everyone will make, but not everyone will react the same way. Some will take their mistakes and learn from them, while others will get down on themselves and will never try again. The people who learn from their mistakes will be the successful ones, and the people who don't will most likely keep making the same mistakes, and those mistakes will hold them back from success. My advice to you is to learn from the mistakes you make and you will be the best person you can be at that time.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
