I’m the type of person who likes to watch TV shows as each episode is aired. It helps me become immersed in the storyline and in the show’s universe— it’s almost like I'm living with the characters, episode by episode. But sometimes you get busy and just can’t find the time to watch your regularly scheduled program.
And that sucks.
For example, I have never missed an aired episode of The Walking Dead ever since I caught up with the show at the end of its third season. This spring break though, I’m traveling to Berlin and don’t want to spend my time there cooped up in my room, screaming and crying about how the internet is too slow and my stream won’t stop buffering. I’ll miss my characters, that I often refer to as my children, and I’ll miss the after show (Talking Dead) therapy time with Chris Hardwick and various guests. I feel like I’m missing out!
But then I realized something— it is quite liberating to not have something to tend to. I will be enjoying my time in Berlin with my friends, my class, and my DSLR camera. I’m going to have a great experience in a foreign country and even though I may miss tuning in to one of my favorite worlds, it will be there waiting for me when I get back.
