When I told my friends I would be going to Salve Regina University, they assumed I would be living in a mansion my freshman year. Although I loved to let them envy me, I had to break it to them that Miley Hall was, in fact, a dorm. As I leave Miley behind, I have to admit, I'm going to miss it. It was no mansion, but it served my freshman self well.
1. Double Bubble
Only ever having to live by myself in my very own room, living with just one other person was the perfect transition into the "roommate life." Whether we were two girls eating chips at 1 a.m., or binging on episodes of Friends - it was just me and my roommate.
2. Miley Mart
Oh, the 11:30 p.m. runs to Miley Mart will never be forgotten. From having conversations with the workers about that paper that I still haven't finished, or running back up to my room trying to juggle an iced coffee and a carton of ice cream, it was so convenient.
3. The Dining Hall (admit it)
Sodexo isn't my best buddy, and it never will be. But I will miss having a world of food at my command. Those days when I literally could just roll out of bed to have my choice of cereal in the dining hall - amazing.
4. The Printers
I can't thank the printers in the Miley basement for being the most constant and reliable relationship I had all year. You were always there for me, at the very last minute, and you probably rescued my GPA.
5. I have two minutes to get there? No problem.
I would literally wait until the last minute to leave for class, get up at the latest time possible, and stop for a coffee and STILL be able to get in my seat before my professor started talking- because distance isn't in Miley's vocabulary.
6. My Hall
This is the hallway where I talked to people on the first day before I had even learned their first name. Months later, I could go knock on their door and immediately start a conversation. Miley gave me the chance to make friends my first year of college, and for that, I'm thankful.
So, as we go our separate ways and end up on different ends of campus, we should thank Miley for all it was for us, cause we aren't going to live here again.
