I am not alone in my belief that it is no coincidence that midterms week (or in some cases, a more spread out midterm month) falls in October.
Nothing is as capable of scaring a student as preparing for exams in all of our classes that make up a majority of our grade. Our only solace is the art of binge-watching, and my personal preference as of late has been "Fuller House," which recently released its third season onto Netflix, just in time for midterms.
1. When you find out you have two exams within a day of each other.
This is honestly just cruel, I have not slept in several days, and the only thing keeping me alive is coffee.
2. When someone asks if you are ready for the test.
Better yet, when your teacher's idea of a review is putting questions on the board and telling you how unprepared you are.
3. When your all-night study group goes to the dining hall for a midnight snack.
All of the food will be eaten. All of it.
4. Returning from that dining hall trip.
I am caffeinated and ready for anything.
5. Pulling up to your 8:30 after not sleeping the night before
I am the shell of a human being, but I sure as hell look fabulous.
6. When you realize you only have a few hours left until the exam.
I know I have been studying for days, but I know nothing.
7. Motivating your friends through their midterms
My roommates and I have honestly become each other's biggest cheerleaders these past few weeks.
8. Preparing for your friends to come back from their midterms.
There will be tears. There are always tears.
9. When your professor says that the test will be easy.
It is not and it never will be, they are always lying.
10. When it is all finally over.
Let the hibernation begin.
