Mommie warned me If I am bad I won't receive any presents from santa. It shouldn't be an issue, I've been a good girl so far. I wanna meet Santa. I wanna know why he likes milk and cookies so much. I wanna know why he is a saint. Is it true he is jolly and nice? Is it possible for me to visit the toy factory and hang out with his elves? Is Rudolph the red nose reindeer real? I have so many questions.
The night before Christmas I can barely sleep. Mommie is smiling and says, "why aren't you sleeping sweetie?" I respond " Because Santa is coming!" She laughs.
"He won't if you don't sleep, how else he is going to leave you presents."
I sighed and wait for her to tuck me in. I am curious about something and ask my mom, "Is Christmas only about presents mommie?"
She says, "No its only part of it. You see we treasure the moments we have with family and give to those who are less unfortunate." My eyes slowly droop. I mumbled "I want santa to...." I sleep before I can finish.
I wake up in the middle of the night and heard a noise. I quickly run to the living room and see someone by the christmas tree. It's to dark for me to see yet I see a figure making crunching noises. I gasped "Santa?!" He is really here and eating my cookies.
"HO HO HO. What are you doing up little one.?" I respond "I wanted to tell you I don't want any presents!"
Curiously he asks why. "Because I am blessed to have family and I know little kids like me aren't so lucky." Tears streamed down my face and I cried out, "Please make their christmas special santa!"
In a deep voice he said "I will." He promised and I ran to hug him. However he is so tall and instead I end up hugging his leg. Santa stroked my hair gently and told me to go back to bed. I went without any hesitation. I wake again to my mother calling me. As soon as I stepped into the living room my father wrapped in a big red bow is waiting for me. He smiled and opened his arms wide open for me. I cried "Daddy!" and jumped into his arms.
He holds me tight and says "Merry Christmas baby." I hugged him tighter and whispered I miss you. This was better than any christmas gift santa could ever give me. A crunching noise distract the moment. I pull back and gasped, "Daddy those are santa cookies!" I glare and he narrow his eyes at me. "Santa loves to share, did you know that?" We both laughed in glee. Little did I know my dad was Santa.
