A Message From Your Daughter

From the day you brought me into this world, you've done everything in your power to make sure I was safe, happy and loved. You made my sister and I your number one priority. Not most children get to say that about their mother. From every sporting match to every schooling event, you were always right there to cheer us on. Mom, you are my idol and I look up to you for everything that you stand for as a person. You're such a beautiful person inside and out, and I'm blessed to be your daughter.

Thank you for being my best friend. The bond we have formed over the last couple years has been the greatest because I know when all else fails, you're just a call away. I love that we can talk about anything. Even the personal side of my life, you listen. When I need advice, you'll tell me how it is and offer guidance. I enjoy our little dates to the movies and conversations over dinner. It means a lot to me that you take the time out of your day to spend it with me. There's never a dull moment when we are together, and although we might bicker sometimes, we don't let that affect our relationship.

Thank you for being supportive. Not once did you ever miss a sporting event. From freezing in the rain during a track meet or staying all day in a muggy gym for a volleyball tournament, you were always there. You and dad are my biggest fans. To have parents that dedicate their lives to support their children's accomplishments is everything to me. With every decision I have made you always back me up. The world could be against me and you still would be by my side. When I had a bad game you'd pick me back up, or when I was in a battle you brought your guns. Mom, you never let me stand alone and you never missed an opportunity to show us kids how much you love us for doing well. For that, I can proudly say you're our biggest fan.

Thank you for helping me. A few years back I can't image my life to be where it is now if it wasn't for you. I went through something no teenager should go through, but you didn't judge. Instead you picked me up and helped me in the best way possible. Because of you, I am a brand new person. I reflect back on the past and realize I wouldn't have made it if you weren't there. Mom, you didn't judge me or become embarrassed because of what I was going through. You looked at me with the same loving eyes. I was broken and you were the one who helped glue my pieces back together. I am who I am because of you.

At the end of the day I am thankful to have a mother like you. You work so hard to keep us happy and to make sure we get a life worth living. I am beyond appreciative for what you do for my sister and I. You've put yourself through hell and back for us and there's nothing more beautiful than a mother's love for her children. You are my best friend and the greatest mother a girl could ask for. Thank you for giving me a beautiful life and continuing to shower me with love everyday. I love you mom.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
