Even Though It's 2019, We Can Still Enjoy The Top 10 Memes of 2018

In This Article:

Memes are a big part of social media and the internet, and they have increasingly become a big element of modern culture. These humorous images have been around for quite a few years, and they will definitely stay as an unchanging aspect, which is why it would be fun to take a look at some of the funniest memes to come out of 2018!

1. Surprised Pikachu

Probably one of the most relatable meme to come out of 2018!

2. Gru Flip Chart

https://www.instagram.com/p/BrDE8Jwn4Ox/?utm_sourc...

Gru's flip chart meme is typically a four-panel comic that was taken from the "Despicable Me" movie. Edits of this meme involve a dent in the plan on the third panel, which is why Gru is confused in the fourth panel!

3. Change My Mind

After Steven Crowder's "Change My Mind" campus sign went viral, you better believe internet users began exploiting it into a meme.

4. "Bird Box" Memes

https://www.instagram.com/p/BsDaoF2gBpz/?utm_sourc...

Although it's still fairly recent, some of the best memes of 2018 came from the premiere of Netflix's release of "Bird Box".

5. Thank U, Next Memes

It also didn't take long for internet users to begin taking Ariana Grande's lyrics from her hit single "Thank U, Next" and turning it into a meme. And we're glad they did, because some of the best memes of 2018 come from the three lines seen above.

6. Gritty

https://www.instagram.com/p/BsGg_ycHPJg/?utm_sourc...

Gritty became a national sensation in September when the NHL Philadelphia Flyers introduced him as their official mascot. People immediately took to the internet with the announcement, but if anything, Gritty himself is the number one supplier when it comes to creating memes about him.

7. "Is this your king?"

https://www.instagram.com/p/BguVaMPAL_i/?utm_sourc...

2018 was such a long year that I bet most of you forgot "Black Panther" was released in February of 2018. This meme may be nearly a year old at this point, but the "Is this your king?" was definitely a memorable one!

8. Car Salesman

https://www.instagram.com/p/BkrHEn4AfA_/?utm_sourc...

If you ever need a good laugh, just check out the Car Salesman memes!

9. Handshake

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm6-UnGFPer/?utm_sourc...

Definitely one of the greatest memes of 2018. I've yet to see one that didn't speak an undeniable truth.

10. LeBron James

These are just really funny because, I mean, just look at his face. Way too relatable.

Of course there are so many more amazingly funny memes that come out of 2018 and these are just a small portion of them. Let's see what type of hilarious content 2019 will bring!

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
