Meeting the Band Little Mix - My Experience

I finally got to meet my British queens.

On Thursday, March 16th, I got the opportunity of a lifetime: meeting the British band Little Mix. For those who don't know, Little Mix is on the Dangerous Woman tour with Ariana Grande to promote their new album Glory Days. When it was first announced that they would be touring with Ariana Grande, I was sad because the one time that they were coming to Minneapolis was when they were touring with an artist that I was certainly not going to spend my money on. So, when my best friend and meet-and-greet partner in crime Morgan told me the news just over a week prior to their stop in Minnesota, I was ecstatic. I have known this band for four years and now I was finally going to get the chance to see them perform live - and also meet them!

Perrie Edwards:

Perrie is my queen, my favorite, my "mom." I absolutely love Pez. She's beautiful and amazing and I love her! I do also enjoy the passive aggressive call out to Zayn Malik in the song Shout Out to My Ex. [Not going to lie, I'm sad that Zerrie is dead, but I don't blame her for still being salty about it] However, let's get back to meeting her! She is absolutely adorable and sweet! Her accent is so adorable as well! I want to put her in my pocket and carry her around for when I need sunshine in my life. Not to mention that she is so much more beautiful in person!

Jesy Nelson:

Jesy is absolutely beautiful. She is honestly my Beyonce, but better. She's also very sweet! I wish I got a longer time to talk to them because I would've asked how she gets her hair and makeup so on point all the time (other than a makeup team for photo shoots and that). She has such a powerful singing voice as well, it's beautiful. She's almost as better live than on the CD!

Jade Thirlwall:

Jade was such an angel! She even I told her that she was really pretty and she responded in her British accent: "aw thank you! You are too!" That made my day! I would've hugged her if the security guards would've let me! Her voice was powerful as well. It blended so well with the other girls and she just has a wonderful set of lungs on her.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock:

Leigh-Anne was such a beautiful person as well. While it may not look like it in this picture, she had such a pretty smile! She was also sweet! She just looked so cuddly in her hockey jersey, although it wasn't Minnesota.

Meeting Little Mix was honestly such a privilege because they are so sweet and it was so obvious that they were happy to be there. Their acoustic performance was amazing and their voices were so powerful and so much better live! I am also so happy that they did something like this because I wouldn't have gotten to see them at all. This will tide me over until they come back again, hopefully headlining their own tour.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
