Meet the Reporter: My Favorite Holiday Tradition

'Twas the night before Christmas and we had just gotten our tree; it was 50% off so it was practically free? My family and I are notorious for pushing our holiday festivities until the last minute and our Christmas tree is no exception. But, it's one of my favorite holiday traditions.

Once we finally make the time to go get a tree from our local garden center, the festivities begin. My grandma sits untangling the tree lights while my mom, sister, and I start taking out our ornaments while listening to holiday music. After my mom graciously hangs the lights for us, the reminiscing begins. Our ornaments range from cute cowboy Santas to cringe-y middle school pictures of me and my sister. Even though we see them every year, it's always nice to think about all the memories attached to these trinkets.

As my sister and I grow older, it feels like there's less and less time to enjoys special traditions like this. So when we can spend time as a whole family like this during the holidays, I try to make the most of it as much as possible.

To Boldly Go Where No Man Has Gone Before...

One of the things that I love most is space. I am a HUGE space nerd. Literally ask any of my friends. I was first introduced to space when my dad dragged me to see Star Trek. Since walking out of that movie theater in 6th grade, becoming an astronaut hasn't been just some wild dream that could come true.
