It's not about how many friends you have it is about the quality friends that you have. Friends come and go but true friends are here to stay.
Growing up here and there you will have a couple friends that you will stay close with for many years of your life. Then there are those friends that enter your life for a short period of time and then just leave. It might be because they hurt you, you hurt them, or they just left unexpectedly. My theory is that everything happens for a reason. Certain people are put into our life to challenge us to see if we can handle certain situations. They are there to show us what true friendship is.
Throughout my life I can tell you that I have only had about two to three people that I have stayed friends with since, kindergarten. They are both still my best friends today. They are the people who have been there for me through thick and thin. They are the ones that I call when I need to rant or just let out my stress. They are also the ones, who know all my secrets and just how to make me happy. Brooke and Jimmy if you are reading this, shout out to you both for being some of the most down to earth people that I have met. Love you both!
Along the way, I have been friends with people that have taught me many lessons. Ive learned who to trust and who to not. Additionally, I have learned who is there for me when I need them the most and those who do not care. There are also other people that have just come and go. In addition, there are many people that I have become close with in the past few years. Sometimes these people are the ones you would never see yourself being close with but they are the ones that you ended up being life long friends with.
I choose to surround myself with people who make me happy and just are positive. I do not need negativity in my life. I am one to try and be friends with everyone but sometimes, your closest friends become your closest enemy. I can say this because I have had this happen to me. Looking back I would never picture to be close with the people that I am the closest with now, but in the long run it is better.
Friends are the ones who are supposed to pick you up when you are down. They are the ones that are there for you when no one else is. They are the people that make you happy. These people are true friends.
