In my opinion, pretty much all mascara is the same. If you've used one, you've used them all basically. In celebration of 4/20 Milk Makeup just released Kush Mascara, a mascara with cannabis oil. While I don't really have a taste for cannabis, this intrigues me. Should I be putting weed on my lashes? Is this going to be the next big makeup trend?
Kush Mascara is a high (heh) volume mascara meant to evenly coat lashes from root to tip and to and lift them. Cannabis oil or CBD is the "kush" in this mascara. CBD is not psychoactive, which means it won't be giving you a high because it doesn't contain THC. CBD is a growing ingredient in the beauty world because of its conditioning properties and versatility. The oil facilitates a creamy texture in the mascara that makes it go on smoother and come off easier. Oh, and don't worry it doesn't smell.
Milk Makeup has recently become 100% vegan, woo! Part of becoming vegan meant coming out with a vegan mascara. Beeswax is a common binding ingredient in mascara formulas, but it's not vegan. Naturally, they decided that CBD would do the trick nicely.
The mascara also contains natural heart-shaped fibers to add volume. Most mascaras use cylindrical fibers, but Milk decided to take the plant-based route and use these hollow heart-shaped fibers instead as they believe this shape sits better on the lashes and looks more natural and full.
I don't know that a mascara with cannabis oil is what I need in my life, but I'm certainly going to find out. Kush mascara can be purchased at Sephora or from Milk Makeup for $24 so go check it out!
