The Marvel Cinematic Universe has quickly expanded into one of the most dominant franchises in the movie industry. For lovers of comics and superheroes alike, the MCU has been generating entertaining and visually pleasing superhero films since 2008, with its debut film “Iron Man,” which produced a whopping $585.2 million at the box office.
Fans of "Spider-Man" have been craving a silver screen revival of the beloved webhead for years. The last two Sony installments were mediocre at best, leaving fans disappointed and wanting more. Sony has been in hot water for trying to take creative control of the character, but luckily Marvel has been granted permission to work with Sony on this rendition.
There are high hopes for Marvel’s latest version of Spidey, fans have not been this excited since 2004’s “Spider-Man 2” where director, Sam Raimi, proved how well executed a superhero movie can be. For Marvel fans, this will not be the first appearance of Tom Holland's "Spider-Man" on the big screen.
Last summer’s “Captain America: Civil War” gave fans a glimpse of Holland’s character without giving too much away. For the first time, this live action Spidey will feature a version that is very true to the comics. Peter Parker will be in High School the entire film, and really capture the struggle of balancing school work and his superhero duties.
Marvel recently released an extended clip of the film which can be seen below. The clip shows a self-made documentary from Peter Parker’s perspective and helps to fill in the gaps between “Civil War” and the new film. Homecoming debuts this Today in theaters everywhere.
