Margaritaville University Has Paved The Way For Higher Education
Margaritaville University

What was your dream school? I went through high school counting down the days for college. College always seemed so fun and such a great experience. Actually being accepted into a university was probably one of the greatest feelings ever. Knowing that all your hard work paid off and now you are off to change the world. But what if one the greatest university was only two years old?

We have all heard about Margaritaville. Whether the song or their numerous restaurants and resorts, Margaritaville is everywhere. They portray relaxation and happiness. Margaritaville sends you to your happy place and wants you to truly enjoy your life. So what does this have to do with a university? Good question, let me explain.

Margaritaville University has paved the way for higher education. They are only two years old but already have over 200 attendees. They pride themselves on fun, happiness, and true enjoyment in your life. If you can't see by now, it's not an actual university but rather a program for college students.

I have been with Margaritaville University since the first semester they opened their doors to the public and the experiences that I have both learned and witness have been truly amazing. The program allows the students to do what they think would be best on their campus. There have been numerous fundraisers for nonprofit organizations, campus-wide events, and even sports tournaments. Margaritaville University allows freedom to students who run the program. With all this freedom, some might fear that it can get out of hand but that is not the case. When you have a group of people who truly understand what Margaritaville is, love it, and have amazing memories with, you get amazing outcomes.

Students truly love this program. They understand what their values are and always want to push the program forward. Some students have experiences with Margaritaville since they were little kids and now that they get a chance to actually immerse themselves in the culture and spread the message of who they are, it's a full circle that comes with great experiences and happiness.

People may think that college students aren't the best people to let run a program, but they are wrong. With over 200 ambassadors on 125 campuses across the United States and Canada. Margaritaville ambassadors do their best work in flip-flops and Hawaiian shirts. They know Margaritaville is a state of mind, and help to share this relaxed mentality with their communities. It's truly a program that is one of a kind.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
