10 Ways To Make The Most Of The Last Month Of Summer

As summer begins to draw its way to a close, we find ourselves in disbelief. How did it go by so fast? Did we spend our entire summer working? Did we even get to swim?

It's almost time to go "back to school" shopping and get ready for the upcoming fall semester. As Meredith Grey's mother once said, "The carousel never stops turning. You can't get off." What can we do with only a month left of summer? This list will help when it comes to making the most of the time we have left:

1. Say "Yes" when your friends ask you to go out!

Even if you're not feeling up to it, you never know. It could end up being the best night of your life.

2. Plan a weekend trip.

Grab some friends or family and travel for the weekend! Who ever regretted a small getaway?

3. Spend as much time outside as possible!

We can never win with the weather. It may be hot now, but come November and December when it starts to snow, we'll find ourselves missing the July heat. Go for a walk, ride a bike, lay out in the sun! Go swimming! You'll also get a suntan (or, if you're like me, a sunburn)!

4. Go to a concert.

Live music screams "summer!" My favorite memories are from the concerts I went to during the summer. I highly recommend country concerts with lawn seats.

5. Go to a drive-in movie theater.

Sure, you can see a movie any time during the year. But summer is the best time to visit the drive-in. There's just something different about seeing a movie outside on a warm summer night.

6. Have a bonfire!

Nothing says "summer" like late night bonfires and roasting marshmallows. It's s'mores season!

7. Play a pickup game.

When I was younger, one of my favorite things to do was play a game of pickup baseball with the neighborhood kids. I still have fun with this now. Picture "The Sandlot."

8. Go to a baseball game!

Or, if playing one isn't your style, go watch one! I live near Pittsburgh, so I love going to PNC Park to watch the Pirates.

9. Have a picnic!

Grab a blanket and a basket and set up a picnic outside! Get a bunch of friends and have everyone bring their own dish.

10. See a fireworks show!

It may not be the 4th of July anymore, but there are still a lot of people shooting off fireworks! Channel your inner Katy Perry as they shoot across the sky.

Although summer goes by in the blink of an eye, there's a lot we can do to make it memorable. Call up some friends and see how many of these things you can do before you go back to school in the fall.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
